Have they added the ability to disable background downloads?

I'd really like to be able to disable the background download of iOS updates. You can disable background app updates, but not iOS updates.

I'm planning to rent a WiFi hotspot for an extended trip to Europe. I don't want my iPhone (and iPad, and my wife's iPhone) to think they are on a fixed WiFi access point and use up our daily data allocation.

They would have caught it if you would have had posted that Safari was snappier!

:)

Battery life fixed?
Speeded up animations?
Can I have back the .0000005 Seconds of my life back?

/Sarcasm for those who can't tell.

I'll admit, my weakness is networking stuff. Will this fix my iPad constantly losing its internet connection despite a stable wifi network, requiring me to put it in and out of airplane mode to get it working again? It's damn near constant and completely unacceptable...And all apple support has been able to tell me is "Try restoring iOS".

Maybe just try to restore the network settings in Settings > General > Reset? Or have you tried that? Do you have the same issue with other base stations away from home?

Why does my phone say it is version 7.1? No update for me and I can't remember if it always said 7.1

Not only has there never been a x.x.6 update, but I've never seen them support previous iOS versions like this before. (iOS 6.1.5 and 6.1.6.)

Nice, Apple! :apple:

It's because they are still selling iPhone 4 in china and brazil.

But iOS 7 supports iPhone 4. Now if they were still selling 3GS, that would certainly seem like that would be connected to it (since it can't go beyond iOS 6).

Apparently this issue is critical enough for Apple to release it for the older iOS devices not supporting iOS 7 (iPhone 3GS, 4th gen iPod Touch, iPad 1).

SSL handling in iOS was likely wrong since iPhone OS 1.0. Strange that nobody ever found this issue until now.

Doesn't apply to iPad 1 as it can't even support iOS 6.

Development

Is anyone else finding that after updating, communicating with Xcode becomes a bit weird? My phone and iPad lock up and Xcode gets stuck communicating with then, didn't happen with 7.0.4.

Installing 7.0.6 to my iPad 3 now, with my fingers crossed that it fixes Image Thumbnail Import From CF or SD Card Problems.

Mark

I installed 7.0.6 on my iPad 3 and it DOES improve image thumbnail load speed via 30-pin card reader from CF or SD card. But, unfortunately, it's still significantly slower than iOS 5.

Thumbnail load time (NOT image import time, just the thumbnails for selective image import) for 302 images on a 16GB CF card (RAW files from Canon 5D Mark III):

iOS 5 - 25 seconds
iOS 7.0.4 - 2 to 3 hours
iOS 7.0.6 - 15 minutes

Obviously, 15 minutes is way better than 2-3 hours. But it sure would be nice to get back to 25 seconds!

That's probably because you were forced to reboot.

I do a hard rest very day cuz it's so slow it's not that

----------

When was the last time you have restarted your iPhone? It probably feels that way (faster), because iOS restarted the iPhone for you ;)
iOS latest beta doesn't improve the performance of your iPhone I'm afraid...

Last time I restarted it was yesterday when I did a hard rest
