I'll admit, my weakness is networking stuff. Will this fix my iPad constantly losing its internet connection despite a stable wifi network, requiring me to put it in and out of airplane mode to get it working again? It's damn near constant and completely unacceptable...And all apple support has been able to tell me is "Try restoring iOS".

Is it something to do with your router?

But iOS 7 supports iPhone 4. Now if they were still selling 3GS, that would certainly seem like that would be connected to it (since it can't go beyond iOS 6).

Many users aren't upgrading to iOS 7 because the ip4 can't handle it.

That doesn't really prompt Apple to release an update for an older version when they would rather want the people to update to the latest OS that their phone supports. Plus the adoption numbers for iOS 7 in Apple's eyes are very high so the vast majority that can be on iOS 7 are on it in Apple's opinion based on their numbers.

New feature?

Okay, can someone who hasn't upgraded tell me if this is a new feature? Now on both my iPhone and iPad, when they're hooked up to electricity, when you first turn the device on you seeing "100% charged", or whatever percentage the device is at in large letters, which is then replaced a few seconds later with the date information. I never noticed this before. I always had to look up in the upper right-hand corner at the micro print to tell if my device was finished charging.

It's especially nice because most of us charge our devices overnight, and when you wake up in the morning your vision and your brain may not be at 100% capacity.

Did we seriously need this? Just release iOS 7.1 already Apple. Just include the bug fixes with that.

Yes, we did need this. It's clearly an important security fix that will make things safer for everyone.

Armchair developer statements like 'just include the bug fixes' don't really help at all. I understand such comments stem from frustration, but to anyone in the know it does make the complainant sound rather like a child crying in the supermarket. Or saying 'are we there yet?' in the back of the car.

haha, they murdered the gba4iOS emu with this update :)
the app wont load anymore.really fast response by apple, im impressed

This app still works. The problem is that when you reset your device, the Date & Time setting needs to be changed manually in order for this app to function properly.

It's been like that since iOS 7.0 betas actually.

A word of warning:

After applying the update to both my iPhone and iPad, Bluetooth was turned on by default.

Why? I have no idea, but it's worth checking yours isn't on too.
It's been doing that for quite a few people for at least a few of the last iOS updates.

Anyone with the same problem as me? Two iPhones 4: One updates just fine (incl. BT on) while the other one goes through the motions but doesn't actually update ?!

PS: Updating OTA...

This is a little worrying. Since I upgraded, some of my apps...only some, will no longer connect to the internet. For example Costa Coffee apps message reads
"There is a problem processing your request. Please check your internet connection and try again"

Stefan Esser (security expert) tweeted that the bug isn't in OS X 10.8.5 and so he guesses iOS 5 isn't affected.

Did we seriously need this?

You seriously do. It addresses a very bad security flaw, which means secure web and email connections are not, in fact, secure at all. The fact that Apple bothered to update iOS 6 should tell you how serious it is.

There are also reports that OS X has the same bug, and it is not yet addressed there. Expect new Mac OS X patches very soon.

I am skipping this one..
waiting for 7.1...

OK well, if you're happy for anyone with a little knowledge to intercept supposedly secure communications you have with your bank or online retailers, go for it.

Myself, I'll take the fix for the enormous gaping hole in security.

The update for the older version is because the problem is so critical.
