ok, this is weird.
My home button on iPhone 4 started to work again after 2 years of not working despite me restoring the phone before. I came to terms with the fact that its hardware issue and therefore have to pay to have it replaced. This update made it work again. I really don't know what to think here. Any ideas?

Sticking to 7.0.6 Jailbreak. Too many features I like and my iPhone 5 is stable as is. And noslowanimation app allows you to speed up or slow down animation for snappy app open/close. biteSMS is too cool as well. Also PDAnet is a must for this grandfathered at&t guy;-)
Plus the icleaner pro app is great for cleaning cache and everything seems more snappy. Also can keep rid of foreign languages/dictionaries and ipad size images in all apps that take up space.
Hiddensystem 7 allows you to tweak anything that apple can as in colors/sizes of anything.

And etc, etc.

Just wanna say, the circular button changes are incredibly ridiculous and bad design. Ie: answer call screen, turn off screen, etc...

The answer call screen annoys me the most. I mean they went from a beautiful screen where the big easy to use buttons sit over your callers fullscreen picture to a google-esqe screen with small round buttons and a little round picture of your caller. Come on apple.

Each to his own, but I actually quite like the round buttons. I completely understand where you're coming from, though... It was perhaps unnecessary, but it personally doesn't bother me.

Sir Jonathan's obsession with circles continues!

Only one: don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

iPhone 5> severe lag typing in all apps. It has destroyed the functionality of my phone. I've done the usual... Full restore next.

Why do they still insist that you have to be connected to a wifi network to download these updates. It's a freaking mobile FFS. You should be able to use your mobile network. I have 4G with unlimited data and up to 50Mbps download speed. Why should I have to go into a coffee shop with free wifi just to update my iPhone. It's just plain stupid.

So the other Apple freaks at Starbucks can all see you downloading a new iOS update and then they can start downloading too. :D

On a serious note, I totally agree with you. As long as the user is clearly warned that data charges may apply, I see no reason why an OTA update shouldn't be done over 3G/4G. Though I think there may be the issue of having an unstable connection when downloading.

Nope. Opened about 5 tabs, went out and opened some apps and went back to refreshes.

iPhone 5s features page crashes scrolling around and double tapping.

I have 15 tabs opened, and it hasn't crashed yet after fairly heavy use. Feels faster too !

I'm not sure I like the new Calendar Search View. Before, it was sort of a "back door" method of getting the old list view back. Now it seems like it is only a true search feature. The new "monthly" calendar view with a list shows only one day at a time. I liked seeing a list of appointments spanning multiple days.

Deselect the "new view" and touch on any date. The old list appears again:D

Because they have a deal with all of the wireless providers to keep it that way. Besides, can you imagine what would happen to the cell network if a few million people all decided to update their OS at 250MB-1.4GB a pop on the same afternoon?

Understand that but they could at least give us the choice. I've now had to buy a mobile broadband wifi dongle simply to get wifi at home for use with my iPhone because Apple forces apps over a certain size to require wifi to download and/or update. I still think that is plain stupid on a mobile device.

Why must the cool fx in the weather app be disabled just because I have all the OS UI crap disabled to save my battery and avoid the slow transitions? The two don't seem related whatsoever. Shouldn't that just be an option in the weather app itself? I'll really miss the fancy weather fx because no way am I turning all that OS junk back on.

Bottom line: Apple, you ruined the coolness you added to the weather app.

Turn off Reduce Motion and get over it. Reduce Motion does exactly what the name implies, reduces motion effects throughout the OS. The animations are sped up significantly in 7.1, so that is not an issue, and the parallax effect can be disabled separately when changing wallpaper, so you don't have a battery issue but can still have the animations, which is what the weather effect is.

There you go, problem solved.
