It gets better and better. Far from perfect, but way better than 7.0.6.

P.S. CC & NC animations on the lock screen are not as fluid as those on the home screen and I'm pretty sure it's not just me.

The NC animation on the lock screen is smooth for me. CC stutters very slightly for me. That's only if I slowly slide it up though. Flicking it up is smooth for me.

Only been through thirty pages but haven't seen anything about the keyboard. It has changed to solid black letters on stark white background. Is this a change because I thought it used to be different. Checked settings but can't find any type of setting to change. Thanks. (I'm talking about my iPad Air)

The Touch ID was slowed down since beta 5...now it takes a second longer to unlock the phone.before its was almost instant

All smooth here on a 5s :D.

It's actually faster for me.

Yes, the background is brighter, the text is darker, and the shift key behaves differently (solid arrow is lowercase, solid background is shift, and the latter with a line under the arrow is caps lock).

Wow, Apple's servers are getting SLAMMED right now.

And now we can release the swarm. :D

Edit: GBA4iOS appears to be working fine after turning back the date to 2012, if anyone was wondering.

Edit 2: And it enables bluetooth for no particular reason again. I never understood why updates always do this...

Location accuracy and nearby services are improved when Bluetooth is turned on. So in order to provide a 'better experience', Apple turns on the Bluetooth.

Subtle changes I've noticed but haven't seen mentioned:

-If you delete an app (like I had to for room to install 7.1) and reinstall it, it reinstalls itself in its original location.
-If you have no music playing/paused/nothing in your music library at all, CC looks a little awkward in the middle.
-Redesigned 'x' for notifications in NC
-Smoother (albeit slower) transitions between panes in NC if you use a swipe; thankfully, however, multiple swipes register so you can do a double swipe to move over two panes (without lag :)).
-After restart, if you try to use Touch ID, it reminds you that you must put in a passcode with "Touch ID requires your passcode when iPhone restarts", rather than "Passcode required after restart".
-The "swipe to close" (AKA "claw") gesture for iPad is much smoother.

I usually do OTA but I was over the storage requirement, so I tried iTunes (which requires a much larger download) and gave up when it got to 2000 hours...

Then I deleted some apps and it took 5 minutes OTA.

Well, my iPad just gave up and said it couldn't download the update. Not much luck in iTunes either, says 31 hours remaining. Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Coming from someone who owns ALL Apple...

Long GOOG, short APPL. Apple has great hardware and always has but their software is...well...going downhill or becoming more replaceable every day.

While this update may very well fix every problem I've been having with iOS 7, its really quite sad that it took a company sitting on so much cash to make a product that was released 4-6 months ago something that it should have been from day one.

My biggest issue has been constant Safari and occasional YouTube crashes. These happen daily and I have restored and started from scratch several times. It was becoming unacceptable. Next biggest issue was touch ID. I gave up on it after 2 months in when it just stopped working and I had to add about 5 different versions of the same fingerprint to get it to consistently recognize.
I really hope this update fixes these problems.

As an owner of multiple Nexus and iOS devices, I can assure you Apple's approach is more practical. There's an issue in the software industry called user update fatigue. Apple rolls out fewer and larger updates than Google, while Google has far more frequent and smaller size updates during the same period of time. On the surface, Google may appear to be moving faster, but in reality, Apple customers are receiving higher quality software albeit over a longer period of time between each update.

Thank you.

Wait a minute. So… Is Music.app still a ton of $h!t? Then I couldn't care less about this update.

Darker green? New call button? Is that what you people were so excited about?

no way def slower over here. I'm talking about 7.1 beta 5 as well lol

Mines instant. It doesn't even show the lock screen it goes straight to the unlocking animation. Beta 5 and final are identical like I mentioned before.

Does anyone know if the update solves the iPad Air / rMini home screen crash issue? (low memory error logs) ?

bolded glyphs? underline text buttons? weather app animations linked with reduce motion?

jesus christ, these "improved" changes are absolute ****!

So the overall OS performing better and being more stable with less bugs is not even worth anything at all?
