Are you serious? Did you really think a software update would upgrade your RAM? 7.1 is much better at memory management, but it isn't magic!

What the hell are you talking about, what does safari tab switch auto refresh have to do with memory.

This is a bug that was introduced with iOS 7 and it is annoying as hell. It's an issue on both my ipaid air and iPhone 5

It never happened with ios6.

What tweak is that second one?

Actually it is a bug. I found several people on the apple website forum that have had the same problem. I did restore it several times since last Fall and it still does it. I use spotlight all the time so that's why I notice it. I'm aware of the motion sickness complaint, it's been all over the news. What I said was, it didn't used to effect the weather app until 7.1. I don't see how slow moving clouds would give you motion sickness for the 5 seconds it takes to look at the weather. I do see how the animation with opening and closing apps would though. Thanks for you input though.
No such Spotlight issue on a few iOS devices I deal with most of the time, not in 7.1 not in 7.0. It might exist in some particular scenario perhaps, but not in general it seems.

As for animations, Apple took the reduce option further to make it apply to as many animations as possible in the OS as that feature should essentially.

While some of the updates are cool....most of the are achievable on a JB "no white point"?!? F.lux is still better, black keyboard? Try bloard, but the main thing for us in Japan is you need iFile to remove the stupid shutter sound that can not be manually turned off here.

We played the extremely fast 3D racer Asphalt 8: Airborne with iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPad 3 and iPad Air in local multiplayer races via WLAN (the previous hardware version of AirPort Extreme). (All devices in the same race.) This software and game mode is heavily demanding hardware, operating system and wireless connections (like no other)!

After two hours of most exciting hightech action (that's what I call fun with testing): There are significantly less dropouts and freezes on iPhone 4 and iPad 3! It seems that the memory management is way better under iOS 7.1 than under 7.0.6 (and previous iOS versions). Perfect now!

My iPad Air handles more music making apps (connected via Audiobus or Inter App Audio) at the same time.

Thanks, Apple!

(Apple's App Store app is still slow sometimes—although slightly better than before—and crashed to homescreen two times on iPhone 5 when I tapped "Updates". It was fastest under iOS 6. Please bring that tempo and reliability back, Apple. Thx in advance. I need that app about 10–30 times a day.)

It has EVERYTHING to do with memory (caching the page) and happened just the same in ios6.

I will miss f.lux, but I can honestly say, after going from jail broken 7.0.4 to jail broken 7.1b3, then from jail broken 7.0.6 to 7.1 GM, the performance and battery life of a clean 7.1 install has been completely worth losing the mods.

Not sure if most of stability, security, various bug fixes, and some overall performance improvements can be achieved through jailbreaks tweaks.

I definitely had this exact problem with Spotlight. No improvement after a restore software either.

I had the exact behavior as previously mentioned, where after typing a letter or two Spotlight would crash but would work fine after that.

Not to be a jerk, but why not read the update release notes? That's what they're for.

"Fixes a bug that could occasionally cause a home screen crash"
Because what is written in a release note in not necessarily what users experience.
I've updated my iPad air to 7.1 and within 15 minutes I had my first Safari low memory crash:( checked apple support comminities and there are many reports of ipad airs and rminis crashing in 7.1 just like before.. So no they haven't fixed it.

Restore and set up as new.

One thing that I have noticed and do not like is that the notification center has a bounce to it when it opens...Never did this before. Any way to turn the bounce off?
