Do I have to do a complete wipe with the beta? I tried doing the update method (option+update, find beta file), but it crashed then I had to restore my iPhone from a backup with iOS 6.

Yes. restore then set up from back up. Pretty simple and straight forward.

– New signal strength icon (circles) is a bad and amateur design choice (just like the most of the UI). The way it looks now it looks a lot like a password field with hidden text. And to get the idea about signal strength you need to count circles while previously you just looked at the last bar and immediately get it based on its size.

– New icons are cheap, amateur and there's no any reason and any sense to make them flat, especially when you add new 3D effects such as moving wallpapers and Safari 'stacks'.

– New quick settings aka 'control center' panel is a total mess. If it's done it should be done way better.

– App switch panel is a step back – now you see only 3 icons at a time instead of 4, and app previews are only distracting. It's way easier and faster to navigate by icons.

– Removing buttons and visual highlights and replacing them with plain text is a one more step back and a nod (why??) to Android and Windows design. You need to spend time trying to find a button and guess if it's a button at all.

– ^That's why Siri panel now shows "Tap to edit" under your question, since there's no any other visual clue that it's tappable. When you have to explain something (what was clear in iOS 6) to the user it's a very bad UI design.

– Share panel is a mix of colored and outline icons. Again you need to make an effort to differentiate between outline icons, they're harder to read than before.

– The whole UI doesn't feel consistent, you always need to guess something or spend some time in an app to just understand the interface layout. Getting tired and bored very quick.

– iOS lost its unique, rich style. Definitely a huge step back.

auto app downloads

i have ios 7 beta running on an iphone 5 and it seemed like a lot of ppl were wondering so.... yes, there is an option to turn off automatic updates for:

Music
Apps
Updates
.........

idk if anyone else was experiencing difficulties with iMessage and Facetime? It says "Waiting for activation.." and gets stuck.. Facetime app won't even let me log in either. but overall, i don't think anything is HEAVILY impacting to a standard iphone user (as myself)

The installation was a breeze! The download speed was extremely fast after hours of Gateway error on Apple's dev site...

{snip}

Some of my top issues:

1. I don't like the genie effect when you exit and app or enter a folder. It looks "low quality"
2. Some icons look low-quality, kind of fuzzy.. I am not sure how to describe it, like seeing something not optimized for retina. e.g. the phone icon. Maybe I am just crazy.
3. it's kind of laggy in some instances which is understandable as this is first public seed.
4. In photo, when you zoom all the way out in the "photos" mode, everything looks overlapped and jammed together. Must be a UI bug of some sort. This is the same as Calendar event. Time stamps will overlap if current time is very close to the hourly time marker.

The animations are definitely very slow at the moment. It takes a while just to get to and from apps.

Every single screen looks nice except the main screen. I dont mind the grid system but the colors of the different icons look very childish. Control center, mail and the music app look excellent. I just wish we could change the basic home screen. The safari app icon and settings app icon look horrible!

We're unable to complete your activation..
This device is not registered as part of the iphone developer program

I check, double checked, and triple checked the screen shot I made of my UID from itunes prior to installing. It's still showing registered in the developer account.

Could it be a server overload glitch, or did I likely do something incorrectly?

Same here, except I actually restored to iOS 7 before adding the UDID in the dev center (forgot to do it because my iphone was new). I guess the activation server hasn't taken newly added UDIDs into account yet ? I hope that's the problem, otherwise I'm stuck with a brick :/

no problem with iMessage and FaceTime on my ip5 running iOS 7 beta 1

Is it me or is the way to full to fit on an iphone's tiny screen?

This would be great on a maxi or mini pad but a iphone 5, well, geez, its too much on that tiny screen. and, is it me or is this looking an awful lot like a, dare I say, Android? Maybe Apple is finally stealing from them after they totally ripped of Apple.

I had the same issue. I restored back to 6.1.4. Then I hit (alt) update instead of restore and it worked.

That's so nice of you ... Nice way to try and make a potential $400 profit. Until Apple find out and ban your account and you are left with a brick.

Legitimately did not know. Deleted that comment. Saw everybody else doing it so I thought it'd be a nice way to make back some of that cash

How do you close an app?

Can anybody explain how the heck can you close an app after you open it? For example you open TomTom (a GPS app) then you hit the home button and the app goes away in the background but remains open. How the heck can you close the app like you could before with iOS 6.x by double taping the home button then holding down the app's icon? This no longer works in iOS7.

It's a Beta, relax... Maybe consider finding a job writing reviews or get a job as a developer working for Apple since you are so good at what you do and know so much! You sound like a Micro$oft fanboy, look at the crap they make! Android, I gave up on it when it took me about 15 minutes to figure how how to get into the bluetooth settings app on a phone :)
