I hope with this update I don't have to turn off wifi anymore because it wasn't working.

I'll be sticking with stock iOS 7.1.2 on my iPad Air.

There's no way this release will take iOS 8 close to how smooth and quick 7.1.2 is.

I'm hoping this fixes the random Springboard crashes. It's frequent enough that it's a problem, especially when it happens when I bring up the Camera app.

Hopefully the original Mini gets faster too like the iPad 2. My parents both have the original Mini and it has become super slow with iOS 8.

Anyone with relevant feedback regarding this update, please let me know :)

For me, the most important fixes included on iOS 8.1.1 are:
  • Apps that rely on iCloud sync no longer hanging or crashing
  • Deleting an app does not take around 10 seconds
  • Share sheet reordering sticks

I am also hoping it fixes 5GHz WiFi issues, but it was broken on iOS 8.1.1 beta so I am not too optimistic.

Fantastic that Apple still cares about people who bought the 4S in 2011. Android OEMs would have abandoned such users years ago.

Nooooo just ordered my ipad Air 2 two hours ago. Praying is still comes with 8.1 pre-loaded

I know what you mean. I just ordered my iPhone 6 yesterday. The shipping time is 7-10 days so I think I'll miss the 8.1 signing window for the jailbreak.

The old iPhone 4s I use for testing feels really fast compared to iOS 8.1. A huge improvement. Still waiting for the iPad 2 to finish updating so I can test that.

Tomorrow I'll upgrade Air 2 and 6/6+ when we're all done testing for 24 hours. :D
