How odd. Had to update my iPad via iTunes to avoid deleting data, after updating iTunes showed my iPad was still running 8.1 and asked if I wanted to update it. iPad shows 8.1.1 in General>About.

Same thing happened to me.

For me, the most important fixes included on iOS 8.1.1 are:
  • Apps that rely on iCloud sync no longer hanging or crashing
  • Deleting an app does not take around 10 seconds
  • Share sheet reordering sticks

I am also hoping it fixes 5GHz WiFi issues, but it was broken on iOS 8.1.1 beta so I am not too optimistic.

Let's see if other people know of any other fixes. Thank you for the info :)

Hmmmm ... still hesitant to install it on my 4S.

If you have iOS 6 or iOS 7 on your 4s then you should be hesitant (performance will take a hit going to 8).

If you have iOS 8 on it already then this should help (fix bugs and possibly speed things up)...

Update working fine here on iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2. Touch ID and cellular still working. ;) Seems to fix a bug in Safari where I sometimes got a blank page when switching tabs. Also glad that they fixed the vulnerability that the jailbreak exploited.

BTW, there's also an update for the Apple TV.

How often do you delete apps that a 10 second duration wold be a problem?

Perhaps once a week, but come on, it's pretty darn annoying when you try to delete an app and the entire phone freezes for about 10 seconds.

I'm wondering the same. I'm holding off because I'm absolutely loving my battery life (just plugged it in for the first time since Friday), and don't want to prematurely install this and give that up.

Can anyone report how this affects battery life, if at all?

Yeah battery is AMAZING! Way better than it was 45 min ago. :)

ok ok, couldn't resist. Def will report back once actually had time to know.

Updated. It's currently crashing every 10 secs, Siri is cursing at me, and iMessage is sending porn to my family. I should have known! Apple has really had trouble with their bug fix releases lately.

With a 6+, should I care for this update?

The beta version fixed the share sheet issue where you would customize the order of sharing options, only to have it reset to default later. That alone is worth it to me. I haven't had any wifi or other issues on my 6 Plus.

10.10.01 - Does NOT Fix WiFi or Network Issue - AT ALL

Wrong thread --- sorry

New feature:
Settings > general > usage > manage storage now shows how much space you have and remaining.

New bug:
Safari fails to load images in the background tab occassionally

iMessage was down for me, too; not sure if it was related to the update or not. I saw a few posts above that some who didn't update had the same issue, so probably just iMessage in general, with timing being a coincidence.

That said, iMessage seems to be back to normal now.

I was really hoping that this update would fix a Siri issue I'm having on my iPhone 6. But it didn't. Siri and dictation do not hear anything I say at all. It works fine when I am using my ear pods w/mic. Speakerphone seems to work fine for phone calls. I don't get it. Anyone else having this problem?
