So basically your reply about release notes really didn't say anything. Got it.

As far as knowing perhaps someone ran into it and doesn't anymore and can comment on that. And as far as it being included, bug fixes are mentioned, so it could clearly be included as part of those.

If it's not in there, it's not part of the fix. That's what I was implying.

Did you do anything specific to get it to work?I tried uninstalling and signing out of settings and nothing helped. This is both on iPad and iPhone.

Hmm, don't think so as far as I remember. I have turned sound off for the notifications but beside that I did nothing special.

But it can very we'll be there as part of bug fixes. Also what you wrote implied more that there was some details in some actual release notes, which doesn't seem to be the case. I guess it ban be taken as more of a sarcastic way of saying that it's not there, but in that form it didn't quite come off that way as much as it might have a different way.

Lol is iMessage down for anyone else? Swear to God apple sucks at online services

Yes they do, and sadly it's not because they aren't capable, but rather they're just complacent ... Fat and Happy!

Why put forth more effort than they have to. They know they have a cult like following that'll buy anything Apple without a second thought.

Ah yes, the hive mind thinks as one. Forget independent thought, well done on the talking points.

Yes, obviously, read the patch notes. Now move along.

Sorry, you'll have to do your own Googling.

I agree. Cluttering up the forum with questions that can easily be answered by reading the article.

Yeah what I thought you may say when you don't have a valid answer. Thanks for your contribution to this thread.

Ah, so no actual "patch notes" (that you are actually aware of), got it.

Had to re-start once so far: stuck volume down

After installing 8.1.1 on my iPhone 6+, I have had one problem. I used the down volume button on the side of the phone till the sound muted. But when I tried to increase the volume, the phone acted like the down volume button was stuck. It continuosly lowered the volume. The physical buttons - up and down - were not physically stuck.

Solution I found was to power off and then restart.

Seriously? They still haven't fixed the iPad multitasking gesture bug where it randomly stops working.......what the hell was the 346 mB iPad update fix for? Luddites who still have 3-4 year old devices? Nice. How the hell do they not see this stuff?

Gestures are one of those features you either always use or never do. So for the millions of us that do I guess this is another middle finger to us.

Hmm - Id see this occasionally on my Air but havent since I updated early yesterday. I assumed it was fixed. You are saying no?

Update fixed Safari crash when typing in a text box

Finally, I am happy now that Safari, on my iPhone 6+ and iPad Air 2, no longer crashes when typing in text boxes on forms. This bug was in Safari since 8.0.

How bad is it on iPad 2? I'm still on the latest version of 7 and trying to decide if I should go to 8 or if performance will be worse.

DO.NOT.DO.IT

i regret it.
slow as hell & bluetooth miscommunicates making it useless for scanning i did at work

Improved my 4S

Improved my 4S. It wouldn't call it snappy by any means, but overall way less lag when opening apps and other functions compared to previous IOS8 releases. I'd say it's a about half as much lag. It won't last long of course … someone wants me to buy their new phone.

It would be funny if you actually weren't bright enough to find the official patch notes. Don't worry, I know this is not the case and you are just trying to junk up the forum.

It's funnier that you can't provide something simple as that and keep on deflecting and saying nothing in the process. That says everything that needs to be said.

Earpiece Volume

Has anyone happened to notice if this update has any affect on increasing the earpiece volume on phone calls for the iphone 6 ?

I went back and had a look at the contents of the ios 7 to 8 upgrade. Nothing in it for me. Might want to check first before doing this thing.

Return of the U2 album

And yet again, the U2 album returns. The U2 removal tool really doesn't work. I think Apple need to address this properly.

As for my iPad 2, Safari seems to be screwed now, with pages constantly reloading. It's better after a hard re-start, but it's really not working well. For instance, opening and closing apps no longer 'jolts'; instead, there's a delay. That's hardly an improvement. If this update was aimed to help the iPad 2, then from what I can tell it really doesn't seem to have worked.

Is the bug where you update an app via itunes then sync your device with it but it still shows you need to update fixed?

Hmm - Id see this occasionally on my Air but havent since I updated early yesterday. I assumed it was fixed. You are saying no?

Its not fixed. I thought it was but then this morning I open my smart cover, check my mail and a couple other things before work...and not working.

Not sure if its a lock screen notifications thing or a "inactive" iPad for a long time. Usually only happens in the morning.

No, I mean just typing responses here would cause the app to randomly freeze. It was infuriating.
That's exactly what happens to me on 8.0 - 8.1 (I'm still on 8.1). Has your done this at all since updating to 8.1.1?

So what's the point to install 8.1.1 for a 6 plus user?

There's a funny thing about software: It turns out that when you measure, iterate, measure, iterate, measure, iterate to make something faster on older hardware… it usually makes it MUCH faster on new hardware.

As of yet, no. Not on my iPad or my iPhone, but I haven't extensively tested it. But I did type a few replies here on my iPhone and it never froze.
