eh, I don't give them quite that much credit - it was sold as new (albeit as the cheaper model) up until the release of the iphone 6. Still nice to see, but if they sell it as a new device in the latter half of the year, I'm not blown away that they support it a few months later.
Ah yes, the hive mind thinks as one. Forget independent thought, well done on the talking points.

Is the wifi issue fixed with this update?
Yes, obviously, read the patch notes. Now move along.

Différent builds

Something strange, the build références are différent between bêta and official release.
For the iPhone 4S the bêta was 12B432 and the official is 12B435 ...

No noticeable difference on my iPhone6 to me, but luckily I didn't have any issues so there is not much to look for.

Seriously? They still haven't fixed the iPad multitasking gesture bug where it randomly stops working.......what the hell was the 346 mB iPad update fix for? Luddites who still have 3-4 year old devices? Nice. How the hell do they not see this stuff?

Gestures are one of those features you either always use or never do. So for the millions of us that do I guess this is another middle finger to us.

Mine's not working for some reason... I downgraded to 8.1, then it worked. So frustrating. I'll stay on 8.1 for now.

That is strange indeed. Any one else with this issue? Did you install OTA or via iTunes? I used iTunes so maybe OTA caused some weird issue.

Handoff from iPad Air to rMBP is now not working after the update. rMBP to iPad still works. I'm getting dissatisfied with Apple's products and services lately. :(

Nope. Mine quit connecting yesterday morning, and the update changed nothing. It still won't connect when it had been fine for a month. Just magically stopped connecting, telling my my password was incorrect.

All other devices connect fine, including an iPad3 on 8.1.1. I have a replacement iP6+ coming tomorrow.

Really? Let's take an isolated example then.

Weather from iOS 7 to iOS 8. Previously smooth transitions but now laggy, even on the newest iPhones. Does it secretly calculate chance of precipitation with 18 decimals in the background to warrant this lag, or is the background not a movie but in reality a 4k real-time render?
Doesnt change that plenty changed indeed the hood in iOS 8 even if you are noticing it. While none of that should have had impact on something like that, potentially something might have, even if it's a bug of some sort. And that's leaving out the fact that plenty of people don't see that issue anyway.

What patch notes would those be, out of curiosity?

Final having a build that is slightly different (higher) than the last beta is fairly normal and pretty much expected even.

Why not...? Anything from 1997 to 2011, despite being flawed in some ways, they were followed thru and thru... Beyond 2011, everything still haywire despite reaching end of life... Mavericks and iOS 7 are still bug-ridden...
There were always bugs and will always be. And iOS 7 and Mavericks are both widely seen as stable and well performing these days actually.

Then I guess nobody really knows, do they?

Although they said enough. It clearly wasn't in there.

So basically your reply about release notes really didn't say anything. Got it.

As far as knowing perhaps someone ran into it and doesn't anymore and can comment on that. And as far as it being included, bug fixes are mentioned, so it could clearly be included as part of those.

iPad mini performance improvement should be listed in the change log.. I noticed a significant performance improvement after installing 8.1.1.

I have both a 4s and an iPad 2.

They're not kidding that these devices have been hamstrung by iOS8.

Hoping these do indeed improve performance.

No kidding! both of my iPad 2s and my iPad mini (first gen) suck now. I hardly use them because safari is so slow now, plus there's a huge lag when typing on all of these. It's the first time I've ever wished I hadn't upgraded my iOS.

My 4s in no way seems underpowered or pushed to the limit on 8.1.1 version. It is still a fine phone. I will keep using it until it yields its spirit. I would rather invest in a MacBook Air Retina if they ever hit.

Weather did seem to pick up some animation on the background screens, recently. It's snowing on mine right now...

It uses iPad 2 internals so it is listed kinda.

And with this 8.1.1 update?

8.1.1 fixes performance greatly on my original iPad Mini. It has the iPad 2 internals so I imagine the iPad 2 would be good as well.

I have an iPhone 6 and I been wondering for almost 2 months what on earth are people complaining about iOS 8? What is the issue? I am being dead serious! I been heavily using the phone since I bought it have yet to come across a single issue that relates to the software!!

I was joking more than anything... got the upvotes for some reason. It's just that everyone complains about weird stuff sometimes...

How bad is it on iPad 2? I'm still on the latest version of 7 and trying to decide if I should go to 8 or if performance will be worse.
