As always with the Music app, 1 step forward, 2 steps back!

  • finally, repeat 1 doesn't reset the shuffly playlist.
  • up next is pretty amazing all things considered

  • no "skip when shuffling"!!!!
  • no way to know how many songs in playlist/next up
  • no way to star shuffling you music collection easily
  • battery status, clock are hidden in a lot of albums
  • no way to delete a song from up next
Which idiotic buffoon gave the go-ahead for the first decision? I probably have 1000+ songs with the "skip when shuffling" option on. iOS 8.4 completely disregards that option and just shuffles everything!

You can see what's going to play next in a playlist, rearrange them, delete songs from said playlist.

You have to click that icon on the right hand side when you have the player open. It's three horizontal lines.

Love the service, so far. However, I would like to be able to take over a computer running Apple Music (via iTunes) and have complete control over it via the iOS app or Remote app. Spotify Connect and Rdio have this feature, so Apple needs it, too. (if the feature is there and I am missing it, please let me know)

for those having an issue with your Beats app stuff not migrating, go to Settings>Music> and then toggle on iCloud music library if it's not on.

I feel dumb because I knew I should have done that in the first place instead of letting Apple waste 1hr 30min of my life on the phone. Anyhow, I have all my playlists again.

I have a question: when I connected my iPhone 6 to my desktop computer running iTunes 12.1.2, I got the request for a download. The size of the download: 1.84 GB! Why would iTunes essentially download the whole kit and kaboodle of iOS 8.4 just to install about 220 MB of code on my iPhone 6?

(EDIT) Interestingly, when I did an "over air" Wi-Fi update on my iPad Air, the download size was only 184 MB. Somebody tell me what's going on....

OMG it's so terrible don't even install it. /s

You joke, but my iPhone's down to 20% battery after 4.5 hours of "usage" despite me not really using it much.

Battery is usually poor a day or two after an update though, then seems to revert back to normal.

This is all a bit Meh for me, considering I have been on spotify for a while now. I have signed up for the 3 months but yea, same **** but different wrapper.

I would like it if on the Beats 1 radio I could access the artists who are playing currently. Seems a bit bizzare to me you can't. You can only add that song to the library, or remember the name and then search it. Instead of a easy access to the artists and more songs.

Definitely problems with 8.4 - after syncing a collection of songs/fill free space, unable to access any of my music.

Songs went to 0, but the files apparently remain on the iPod as "other."

Having to reset.

Where's your QA/AC, Apple?
not sure if you have fixed this yet, but i had the same problem. I had to sync with iTunes to get my music back. initially it tried copying all my music back and said it was over capacity, but it sorted itself out by the time it was done syncing. fortunately i didn't have to do a restore or anything.

Of course you can do this. Tap the ... while the song is playing. One of the options is to show in iTunes Store. Or add the song to a Beats1 playlist. Someone else suggested that and it's working out well. I have a new playlist, it lists all songs that I can play back and I didn't have to write anything down. :)

People DO care about sound quality. The failing of Tidal is not because Tidal has better sound quality - and that people do not care for such. But yes, most people don't care. And most people have iTunes on their phones pre-installed and are accustomed to Spotify.
People have built lists and have their friends on Spotify, and shared lists, that's why Tidal is failing, they got in late. Norwegians don't want to switch from wimp or spotify to the sinking ship that is Tidal either, I think, and Apple apps usually look and feel better and are better integrated to the OS while Tidal and Spotify are kind of ugly.
I didn't know mods were able to edit my comments... I didn't typed this at all. I said "Yeah, no one really cares about that. That's why iTunes is the biggest music store and Tidal is failling" WTF macrumors? Seriously?

Sounds rather unlikely a moderator would edit something like that to what is in that post now.

To my eyes Apple Music looks nicer. To my ears Spotify sounds significantly better. Spotify streams 320 kbps Ogg Vorbis. Apple, 256 kbps AAC.

Did anyone see changes in the VoLTE settings? My Spanish iPhone 6 now has 4G calling and Data. My Dutch Vodafone still has not. Both got a carrier settings update
  1. Vodafone es: vf es 20.1
  2. Vodafone nl: vf nl 20.0

Spotify doesn't sound significantly better unless something is amiss with your hearing and I'm not sure you understand the difference between AAC and Ogg.
