Of course, the servers are clogged. Cannot download iOS 8 on neither my iPhone and in iTunes.

Guess I'll have to wait for the storm to settle

Ouch. The 6.6Gb needed for the update on iPad Air is a lot when you have 32Gb device. Had to delete all my video and big apps. Can only imagine what someone with an 8Gb iPhone 5c is gonna go through.

This will also mean fewer people are going to update because people don't want to spend ages making room (some people like my mom don't even know how to) so the 92 % upgrade rate to iOS 7 Apple has been boasting about is not gonna stay for iOS 8.

They really need to rethink this thing. Updating your software isn't painless and easy anymore unless you have 64Gb or 128Gb device.

Is anyone else getting

"Your software update has been received. You will be notified when the update has been downloaded and is ready to install"

Only once. After that just recurring "An error occurred downloading iOS 8.0"...

Downloading complete on iP5 and iPad Air. Now says preparing update on both.

Bar is 3/4 way complete. Waiting for the reboots.

To everyone excitedly downloading ios 8:

It's month-old still-buggy firmware which will more likely than not reduce your battery life and heat your phone.

Ok, please enjoy.

Love,
Any Random Jaded Dev

Ps. Where TF is 8.01?!?

APPLE TV ios8

still not working..

is it version 7.0? or 8.0 too? guess it will still look the same after all, haha..

Haha yepp. Pretty sure 8.0. I remember reading about the ios8 beta for apple TV I forgot what the updates were (minimal I believe) but I wonder if there are more in the official release

Needed 4.6GB of free space on my 16GB phone which only had 1GB of free space. Really needed to cut a lot including ALL music. Guess it's just some housekeeping and will just wait until I get my iPhoine 6 on Friday to reload a bunch of the apps and music I deleted.

18 minutes remaining on iOS 8 download...

sooo question....since iPhone 6 is going to be iOS 8, does this mean we have to download iOS 8 on our current phones in order for the backup to work on the iPhone 6?

advice : don't upgrade to the icloud drive until OSX yosemite comes out.
This... storm is going to be fun to watch for a month until Yosemite is out.

It's a surprising slip by Apple. I think the downsides from upgrading early by far outweigh the upsides and to make matters worse, iOS 8 is kind of pushy about this. "Are you sure you don't want to upgrade to iCloud Drive, really??" People are going to get so confused about "the iOS 8 bug" when everything stops synchronizing via iCloud to their Mac and Windows. "WTF Apple, my iPhone stopped syncing, what to do now?" "Oh sorry, haha, we don't allow downgrades back to normal iCloud, trololol"

The only logical solution to me would be Apple issuing iOS 8.0.1 when Yosemite is done, enabling iCloud Drive.
