sooo question....since iPhone 6 is going to be iOS 8, does this mean we have to download iOS 8 on our current phones in order for the backup to work on the iPhone 6?

No. iPhone 6 can restore from an iOS 7 backup.

Am I the only one not getting an ETA on the download? All it says is "downloading..."

OTA worked amazingly well, took 5 minutes to download, though at first it seemed I've been placed on some sort of queue. It was saying update requested but nothing was happening and then minutes later it started downloading, took about fives minutes to download and now preparing the file. Looks like Apple has taken a different approach this time around and at least in my case it was flawless. Still remember the pain it took to update to iOS7. Took me hours and countless attempts.

P.S. Update didn't show up in iTunes.

My question is...

Why are they still selling 16 GB versions of the newest iPhones and iPads at all? They know how much space is required to be free on the devices to install iOS updates. I suspect that next year, they will do what they should have done this time and make the starting capacity on the flagship devices 32 GB.

I'd like to hear more about this... Anyone download this?!

Well I'm DL the :apple: tv and IOS 8 now I'll try to up date my post with :apple: tv update via pics from iPhone after updates..

edit: :apple: tv update 7.0 vs. 6.13 = 7.0 looks sharper edges n cleaner / clearer .. Left side pic is :apple: tv os 6.13 and right pic is :apple: tv 7.0 ... Don't know why the Attachment server is flipping the pics upside down ?

Ha, my iPad Air needs 6.9 GB of free space. My iPad is 16GB. This should be interesting clearing up space....

Wow. Mine says the same thing, too. The download is under 1.5GBs. In previous updates, it was just 3GBs it needed, I think. With many of their products only having 16GBs, this is outrageous. Very poorly implemented.

Coulnt connect to server. Many times. Quit iTunes and start again and voila there is the update! 50 minutes remaining in iTunes dowload!

Stupidest OTA update... needs 5.7 GB on my iPhone 5S and 5.1 GB on my iPad mini. Really!?
