For those of you having problems updating apps, I actually restored my ipad and it started letting me update on all the rest of my devices. Kind of a pain, that is the only fix I found.

Well, I like iOS9 so far, I really do.

Don't like the new font though. Well, I'll get used to it. :)

Multitasking - it's better but I would definitely prefer having the app icons at the bottom just like in iOS8.

Now tell me please - how do I get rid of the contact pictures (thumbnails) in Phone App? There seems to be no setting to disable it?

So the non-US world has to wait for the News app - probably following the Siri deployment plan. I can't say I'm really surprised, getting news houses on board probably takes considerable effort.

To FlipBoard...or something!

I think I saw that the News App was available in the U.K in iOS 9.1 beta 1. Which presumably will be released around November to coincide with the iPad Pro. All this U.S first stuff is starting to get a little tiresome though. Although I appreciate it's probably irrational to expect anything else.

Well that would be some good news. I'm running 9.1b1 and nothing for Canada yet. At least I can see what it's like in XCode simulators.

Perhaps I stand corrected - it might be on the Apple Pay deployment plan

IPhone 5s, updated to ios9.

Siri stoped takling. She talked the first time i tried, now it's just text.. Is IT a bug maybe?

How do I switch off the news feature in Spotlight!?
There's no switch toggle in Spotlight's pref :(
Drives me mad.

I can appreciate those of you who sometimes have trouble being patient when Apple rolls everything out in the U.S. first and your country has to wait. However, you all DO realize Apple is INDEED a U.S. company and as such is pretty much expected to release their stuff here first when ever it is at all possible? If Apple was a UK or Australian based company I would fully expect them to release stuff there first and I'd probably be here in the U.S. waiting still. I'm sure there are TONS of products, stores, and services only available in other countries and not in the U.S. that we would love too, but guess what, we understand those aren't U.S. Based companies and we either wait patiently or a company here releases a comparable product. I apologize if this comes off wrong, but it seems like in the past few months everyone loves to bash the United States or don't begrudge us what is ours. I get it, people hate the U.S. I'm sure some of you are from countries that I'm not particularly fond of either, but you don't see me bashing those countries or complaining about the things they have that we don't just out of spite. So please, for the sake of trying to build peaceful relations and leaving ill feelings towards other countries aside, can we just stop hating on the U.S. or Apple for releasing their products and services here first?

Why can't I use News with news sites I want no matter what country I am ?
I live in Poland and I am Portuguese, who says I want to read news in any of those languages/from those countries ?
:(

AFAIK, Apple wants content formatted/designed specially for the app. That takes buy-in from content providers. I'd be surprised if they reached out to many overall, let alone globally.

Yes. Agreed.
But why can't I have the News app and read Macrumors and cnn?

I don't think poster was bashing US not sure why you've thought that. For the record I agree it's a US company of course things will come out there first.

Thank you to all of those who have updated their 6 Plus and let me know of the slowing.

Will not be updating until speed is not an issue. Apple have lost me for updates.
Will never update immediately again.

Not sure if this was for me or not but I will reply :)
I don't hate the US, on the contrary. I would love to live there.
This doesn't have anything to do with that anyway.
The point is I don't get the right to use the News app with US specific content, why ?
Apple always limits these things, even when there is no technical reason.
I understand with Apple Pay for example but with this Proactive and Nearby features I don't.

I wasn't bashing the U.S either, nor do I hate it. I have family living over there too, it's a great country founded on great ideals.

However, whilst Apple is a U.S company, it operates as a multi national, global company. Much of it's revenue comes from Europe and the rest of the world. In fact taken together, the majority of it's revenue now comes from overseas.

But really my point was simply that, it's frustrating to have to wait and it would be nice, however unrealistic, to have features released simultaneously across the world more often.

To everyone having sluggish performance after updating.

Your phone spends 1-2 hours indexing everything after a major update. It's bound to run a it slow with all the processing going on in the background. Once that's done, performance improves dramatically.

My 6 Plus feels like a completely new phone. Animations are fast. Apps open fast. Everything is smooth and works exactly how it should work. After two big iOS 7&8 feature heavy updates, it's so nice that Apple have pulled back slightly on features this year and focused more on optimization. iOS 9 feels like iOS 6 felt. Amazing work.

Battery life not good compared to 8.4.1. I like the extra back button while on Internet.

Don't want to be the bad news guy, but you do understand that Australia Apple Stores sell the iPhone earlier than any US store right?

The switch used to be --iOS 8 How-to: Customize and disable the contacts section in the multitasking interface

but I'm searching for it via 9.1 and its not showing for me ...
