I am hoping someone can confirm something for me. I have an 11 inch iPad Pro (2020) and a 12.9 inch iPad Pro (2018). Display Zoom was a feature I was really looking forward to. I like the “More Space” option. On the 11 inch it gives me 2 options: ”Default” and “More Space.” On the 12.9 inch it gives me 2 different options: “Default” and “Less Space.”

I thought all three options would be available for either ipad. I’m fine with the 11 inch since I don’t want/need the “less space” option. However, I was really looking forward to the “more space“ option on the 12.9 inch. Does anyone with a 12.9 inch have the “more space” option or is it just an 11 inch option?

FYI: Settings —> Display and brightness —> Display Zoom
Found the answer to my own question on Apple’s website.

If anyone is interested, it looks like the “More space“ option on the 12.9 is only available on the M1/M2 12.9 inch models (but all models of 11 inch). Footnote from Apple’s webpage regarding Display Zoom is below:

“Available on iPad Air (5th generation), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation and later) and iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later).”

The update failed in my iPad Gen 8 and is not working now. Updating and Restoring from Mac fails too. :'( It gives error 4013.

Update: Just got news from tech guy, they had to downgrade to iOS 15 and told me to wait for next update. They tried to restore to iOS 16 and also gave them Error 4013.

Any rumors I may have missed about when full External Monitor support might be re-implemented? Or should I just keep checking the betas?

The default clock font on the lock screen is super annoying, just like it is on iPhoneOS 16. On the iPhone, there is a way to change the font, but I'm not seeing it on the iPad.

Not to say it’s 100% wonderful, but using Stage Manager on an iPad Pro 12.9 for the first time it doesn’t seem nearly as crappy as the reviews have said.

First time using stage manager on my iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen (2018), and have to say, I am loving it. Probably some bugs and annoyances that I am yet to came across. Agree about being unable to close apps with gestures.
I didn’t realize my 3rd gen 12.9 Pro would have SM. A welcome surprise

Yeah, this was literally the first thing I tried with my M1. I forgot that the only significant new feature of iPadOS 16 had been delayed

Also now we have (half of) Stage Manger, can we get a Calculator App please Tim?

Stage manager on my desktop screen has the black vertical bars, how do I get rid of them so that I can have the full screen experience?

Already found a big Calendar bug in iPadOS 16.1 related to moving events. When you tap to drag an event and then move it to a new time slot, the event gets automatically duplicated, not just moved as it should.

Already submitted this to the Apple Developer Feedback portal, but wondering if anyone else has seen this.

The new Weather app is amazing.
I like it a lot but seems to have a couple of bugs. Every time I open it in landscape view the side bar reappears after hiding it. There is no reason for the side bar unless you need to add or change a location. Also the keyboard pops up on its own from time to time when the app is opened after it’s been closed for a long period of time. Other than those 2 bugs I think it’s perfect. Will be my go to weather app.

On my iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2020), I only see "Larger Text" and "Default" as options here for this setting.

Boring. And why iOS and iPadOS 16 don't share the same wallpapers as 15? I want matching screens.

You can't at the moment. Full external display support has been delayed, and will be coming in a later update.

Every year you hear the same damn grumbling from the same bitter twisted people who claim how awful everything is.

If this is so, then LEAVE…

I have the latest iPad mini. This long awaited update seems to have changed the font on the Lock Screen time.

Nothing else immediately obvious.
Yes and to me the font is thick and childish. Very unApple like in my opinion. If they are going to change something this in your face and up front they should at least give the option to change it.
