Lovely that they have broken the spotlight calculator if you are multiplying two non-whole numbers together, but won’t give us a calculator app on the iPad.

I've updated to 16.1. There was a huge Android-like clock on the home screen. Now it's gone. I want it back.
Edit: The clock is on the Lock Screen.
I don’t remember it there before.
Wish it was on the main screen too.

Is there any way to change my Lock Screen time font back? I hate this ugly thick childish font it has now!

I’ve searched everywhere and it doesn’t seem to have any customization like the phone iOS lock scree?

I’m liking stage manager so far, having the ability for more windows is cool. If it wasn’t for 12.9 inch i feel like it would be cramped.
Exactly my thought. After test driving it for a while it makes perfect sense for Apple to “restrict“ this feature to larger iPads, preferably in landscape mode. It does reduce the screen estate quite a bit. I added the on/off switch to the control center.

For some reason Safari in Stage Manager doesn’t show the last page loaded when off stage … is this a bug?

Looks like iPadOS 16 is available along with iOS 16.1 in chicago now. After lunch will start the upgrades.

Why do I still have black bars on the left and right of the display when I plug my iPad (m1) into a LG 5K display? Is that another, "it is coming soon" fix?

They have removed this feature.
it will be available in a future release

Updated from iOS 13 on my 2018 iPad Pro to 16.1. Should be nice. I’ll miss league of evil 2 is all.

I have an iPad Pro 12.9" with M1 and I upgraded to iPadOS 16.1. I connected my external Dell U3818DW ultra wide monitor, and have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse paired, and the only thing that happens is my iPad display is duplicated to the monitor.

I tested this feature back in July when I tried the public beta, and extend mode worked great with the same iPad and same external monitor. There are no options at all in "Displays & Brightness" under Displays, other than just the usual options you'd see in older versions of iPadOS.

Anyone else having this issue?

And don’t get me started on the Calculator app.
Buy your own damn calculator app and quit whining. I swear, the number of tears shed over this is just silly. There are thousands of calculator apps out there, some of which are very good. If you can't decide, I recommend PCalc - a well-respected and extremely capable calculator with a pedigree going back to 1992.

The iOS calculator app is nothing to write home about. And if Apple just blew it up to iPad size, you wouldn't like it - the keys would be two inches across, on an iPad Pro. So, they'd have to entirely redesign it, to do something with all that extra screen real estate. Which would then bring up the inevitable question, now how do you support all that new functionality on the iPhone? Or do the iPhone users become the new slighted class, the way iPad users have felt for all these years, with a now substandard calculator? This is likely why Apple has never made any big (externally visible) push to bring a calculator to the iPad (other than Numbers). So... get your own calculator and get on with your life.

When was external display support removed? It's the only reason I bothered upgrading.

The fact that they removed it is the only reason an upgrade is available. They are having enough trouble getting it working on the built-in display.
