I am so resisting the temptation to download this update. I used to blindly hit the update button but I'm getting tired of the little minor issues...

I had the same problem. Re-downloaded from apple.com and it's fine now.

Not sure how long Apple's been doing it but both iTunes 10.1.0 and 10.1.1 were/are offered as Delta, Patch and full versions thru Software Update. Hence the difference in sizes in the two screen grabs posted so far.

If you've got issues after an update, as suggested, go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and download the full installer.

Something is obviously broken in the dist checks or previous installs.

Interesting that they can release stupid little big fixes like this and yet they can't fix the 5.1 surround sound bug that has never been addressed. Frustrating!!:mad:

It is nice to see that they are fixing "bugs", but why don't they fix glaring, major problems? I CONSTANTLY get the "Do you want to all the iTunes app to accept incoming connections" prompt.

I had this problem after 10.1.......just installed 10.1.1 and iTunes seems to be OK. I've quit and launched iTunes 10 times now with no repeat of the bug.

iTunes update - reinstall?

This is the first time I've ever had a problem with updates, but now, after the update, iTunes refuses to open and I get error messages telling me to 'check with the developer', and, 'you may need to reinstall the app' - which I'm trying to do now!.. Thank goodness I have a back-up of my library!

RIP - "It Just Works"

Confirmed, itunes will not start up. Even after a system reboot.

itunes won't start, keeps crashing!

Has Apple officially retired the "it just works" tagline?

iTunes update - reinstall?

All seems well now - but I needed a complete clean reinstall.

When are they going to get iTunes to automatically switch bit rate and format as per Audirvana player for the Mac? I now am growing 24bit /96K music downloads - and it's a pain to have to go into 'Audio Mini setup' to change the settings.

Downloaded the update to be told that it was not compatible to my version of OSX (latest version)

Went to Apple support page and downloaded iTunes again, success.

Ditto on the crash after update. I re downloaded iTunes from apple.com and just hit repair installation and everything works just fine now.

I think i'm gonna just sit out the next update(s) until I actually need them. This should be a lesson learned to me. If it ain't broke don't update it :p

I will try it (of course) and see, but frankly after having this issue so repeatedly on different machines, different versions of the OS (nuke and pave install) and iTunes, I am sure it will be back. Something fundamentally wrong.

+1

Other players besides Audirvana, like Amarra, Pure Music, and Ayrewave, also do the auto sample-rate switching in AudioMIDI. C'mon, Apple--get with the program!

Downloaded and updated fine through software update. My computer is two years old and I have never had one problem with iTunes. Or if I did it was stupidity on my part and the reason why I do not even remember the problem.

Seems to load up faster for me though or maybe I'm just imagining things.

iOS 4.3 coming soon? my video app in iPod Touch still crashing and don't open!!!! it been all month!

i can see videos but looking on music - artists - unknown album and i see them but it's hard to do it every day... what you think?!

Watching TV shows still defaults to AirPlay rather than the computer. Every time I double-click on a TV episode, I have to manually change the playback to my computer. It's driving me nuts.

I hope the stupid tagging bug from 10.1 is fixed.

When I edit the tags in my music library, the track disappears from album and shows as a blank file in library.

Restarting iTunes fixes the problem
