I hope this fixes the Home Sharing and apple remote app problem I'm having, where iTunes can't see my iPhone over wifi. Somehow I doubt it though:mad:

iTunes doesn't get collections? Or is this likely for 10.2 or 10.1.2, and that 10.1.1 was just bug fixing?

What are you talking about? iTunes has had Playlists (one level of clustering) since version 1, and has had Folders of Playlists since what, four years(?) ago.

Updated via Software Update. iTunes now crashes on launch.

Crash report attached.

Update: If after using Software Update to update to iTunes 10.1.1, iTunes crashes on launch, download and re-install from the iTunes website.

.
I used Software Update and had no problems after the install. iTunes 10.1.1 is working fine on my MacBook running Mac OS X 10.6.5.

After update I'm now getting The iphone cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (13019). Only get it at the end of the sync, and everything is there that should be synced. Trying the trick of resyncing all my music. If that doesn't work I'm going to reinstall iTunes from apple.com since it appears others are having issues with this release so far.

Trick didn't work, time to reinstall iTunes to see if that works.

No issues installing or running 10.1.1.4 so far for Windows 7 (64bit).

Well that's a shocker. ;)

At any rate I installed this update on both my iMac 27" and 15" MBP i5 and both installed perfect and iTunes has no issues. Here's the thing, I've never once in my 15 years of owning Macs had an issue when installing software updates from Apple. Funny how it's always about 20% of people that come here and rant that the update either broke something or the software in question that got updated (namely iTunes) doesn't work after installing the update. Well, it's the users fault, bar none. These people need to stop complaining and blaming Apple and own up to something they've done for once. How come many others are not having problems and only a small amount do? We're are all using the same type of Apple computers, less those hackintosh nerds but they don't count.

Unique and clever - or just noticing that Apple's software quality is taking a nosedive?

Does this fix the iTunes starting all by itself out of the blue problem?

iTunes will no longer open for me. Any solutions for this?

Yes. Re-download from the Apple site and install over.

It used to be that Apple users mocked Windows users about "reinstall" and "reformat and reinstall". Today, that's becoming a common recommendation for people having problems with their Apples. What goes around comes around.

How to solve itunes opening crash

iTunes will no longer open for me. Any solutions for this?

Hi mate, re install from apple website.
Personally I repaired the disk permissions before re installing. This is done by opening 'Disk Utility', select 'Macintosh HD', and click 'Repair Disk Permissions'.

You can also try to repair the disk permissions only and check whether it works.

Cheers :D

Should have read the comments first. I downloaded via software update and afterward it would not launch. I used Time Machine to restore. Will wait to update 'til the update bug is fixed for the iTunes bug fix.

Are you saying that Apple update packages don't have signatures or checksums to detect errors during downloads? That's so 1980's....

Something is up and out of order! This is why I believe some are having bad installs and some are not. I lot of the same on Apple support forms.

I hope the stupid tagging bug from 10.1 is fixed.

When I edit the tags in my music library, the track disappears from album and shows as a blank file in library.

Restarting iTunes fixes the problem

that's been around since like 10.0
apple doesn't seem to know how to fix it
