I skipped 10.1.1 based on reports of instability, have those issues been fixed in 10.1.2?
That doesn't change the fact that performance still sucks.
If nothing else, they should update the app to 64 bit. What are they waiting for?
And even more than 64 bit, why only using one core to encode files? Yeah, it's such a great app when things like Handbrake can do the same encode about 8x faster...
Sorry, but who does encoding on iTunes anyway? 64-bit for what exactly? Ripping is dependent on the optical drive, by the way...and every other movie encoding task I do on Handbrake, as virtually everyone else.
What I am talking about is iTunes's excelent performance as a jukebox, even with thousands of media files in it...could it have LESS features or be broken in different pieces of software? Yes. But it works GREAT for the sheer amount of media it stores, while at the same time keeping a relatively clean interface and lots of organizational options.
Unless you want to go back to the olden days of WinAmp, of course...
