you're full of _____ (insert fav word). You read the response you got, called a cable company (that takes 5 minutes of automated system to even begin to get anywhere) and posted back all in under 10 minutes?

If you even got a live person in 10 minutes from a cable company, I'll kiss your butt. And even then, they probably wouldn't have spoken a lick of english or understood you.

so it should read "you're full of BACON" ??

but yeah. i hate the infinte loop call centre phone systems

"press 1 if your fed up of waiting and want one of our corporate assasins to come and put you out of your misery"

im with BT in the UK, and to get a contact to actualy speak understandable english, understand english, and be able to fix the problem if there is one, usually takes no less than 3hrs and 4 or 5 calls. BT are good, they have an Irish call centre, and they almost speak english nativly :p

Who you think I am going to believe....

Here in Columbus Ohio (one of the very first Road Runner markets) I have had Road Runner since March of 1998 (exactly 13 years). Over the past few years I have been using Bit Torrent like crazy. Without a doubt I have been going over 40GB a month for a good while and Time Warner hasn't said a thing to me ever. So if they have caps, they sure haven't cut me off or said anything to me about it.

itune update issues

I'm new to Mac (just got my first, the new macbook pro 13" last Thurs) and spent almost 3 hrs on the phone with support re itunes. In the new version you cannot select itunes as the default software for streaming audio (radio stations) off the internet. Unfortunately the "help" has not been updated and tells you how to make itunes the default, leading to hours of nail-biting thinking there is something wrong and two different support people to finally figure this out.
Love the mac, but also with this newest version, snow leopard 10.6.6 it's more difficult to download third party software. Couldn't get firefox, couldn't use my Blackberry for Mac desktop or any of the media players (ie Windows for mac) that are supposed to work, like flip4mac, mp3 stream, etc etc.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks. :)

A new iTunes 10.2.1 update has appeared in Software Update, superseding the iTunes 10.2 update released just last Wednesday to support iOS 4.3. The new update can also be obtained from Apple's iTunes download page.

The update description is exactly the same as for iTunes 10.2, so it is unclear what has been changed since last week's release at this time. Changes are presumably minor, however, although they may include important bug fixes.

After an initial report this morning claiming that iOS 4.3 would appear today, three days ahead of schedule, The Loop has reported that users should expect the public launch to occur tomorrow.

My iphone 3gs stopped syncing after the last release, so hopefully it is a fix for that...

Funny, my download was about 75 MB. Not so long ago they were around 100 MB. Sounds like they're doing anti-bloat these days. ::grin::

This one also is good for both Leopard and Snow Leopard, last time I paid attention there were separate versions. Or it could just be my foggy memory, my only non-10.6 machine usually gets a semi-automatic Software Update update.

I grabbed this image, wonder what "Activation-only" means.

Ciao. Joel.

They always take ages for me to download, way longer than 75MB normally would. Also I think mine is a bit bigger due to running the 64-bit version.

Uverse is Fiber...If you have a white box on the outside of your house and inside another white box with a back-up battery then you have Fiber... If it slow you most have a slow plain or you need to do a reset on your modem.. I have 18 and my speed is at 17 to 18..

It's not fiber to the house where I live and that is a fact, they had here called "Fiber to the curb". I had it and went back to Comcast because the speeds were just awfully slow.
My Comcast speeds are from 18 to 24Mbps also, not bad at all. I also been doing internet installs and networking for 15 years so I know what to do when I have slow speeds.

Really.. Fiber to the home is way better then CABLE internet from Comcast.. I had Comcast and now have Fiber and it is night and day.. Comcast sucks compared to Fiber and cheaper then them too.. Comcast is a joke..

Fiber may be better, but as far as availability is concerned, Comcast seems to be everywhere, and Verizon FiOS seems to be nowhere (at least in my area). I really can't imagine a better internet or TV experience for the money though. I'm in a Docsis 3.0 area and get a consistent 20mbps down and up to 4.0mbps up. Internet has been great.

Bwaahahahaha...try satellite. If I'm LUCKY I get 120kb/s, with an average ping of 1100ms. I'd kill for 4Mb/s...and you guessed it, smack in the middle of redneck country USA, where infrastructure is too big a word to be associated with freedom. People would rather communicate with guns here.

No, I have not heard of any problems with installing third-party apps with 10.6.6. What exactly does not work? You download the app, you drag it to where you want to place it or run an installer if one is provided. What part of this does not work for you? The downloading, the dragging or running the installer?

Colour me unimpressed. Like many people I downloaded 10.2 only a few days ago. Saw that 10.2.1 was up so did the same. Followed the install to the letter after the reboot of my Win 7 machine tried to start ITunes and it is completely broken, won't even start, get error "iTunes cannot run because some of it's required files are missing . Please reinstall ITunes". So I try to download the 64 bit version from Apple and when I try to run it complains that I already have a newer version on my system.

Way to go Apple, completely screwed my iTunes install. Not worried about data loss as I backup 2-3 times a week but not sure how I can get this back up and running and 4.3 is due today.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Control Panel-> Programs and Features
Select iTunes and click Repair.

Just updated to this version of iTunes. What a piece of ****. Everytime I open iTunes and try and play a song it locks up the entire program.

Thanks a lot Apple

Can't say it's an improvement for me, also now iTunes has become a zombie, forever rising from the grave, no matter how I close it. Whether from the superbar, the Task Manager, or even the little icon in the notification tray.

I've better not post the speed test @ campus (700mb down 60mb up:D). I'm pissed of not because of the bandwitch but due to ssd wear:mad:

Yeah there's always something to complain :D

I get like 32mbps down via Verizon FiOS, but not that any of this matters much beyond, at most, about 12mbps down. Any commercial server is going to throttle you well below your theoretical, or tested, maximum, anyway.

Anyone else's full screen visualizer no longer working? My in screen one does but when I hit full screen it just freezes instantly
