WOW! this SUCKS!!!!!!
usually I love new Apple updates but this is just one piece of crap!

why are the graphics so ****ing choppy? (I'm on a brand new Mac Mini, itunes 10 ran super smooth on it) where's the genius sidebar? why can't I resize album covers?
why is the icon so ****ing ugly?

this software just feels horribly unfinished! not even Beta but Alpha! & it's way too minimal! If this is the direction Apple is heading I'm not so sure about staying with OSX.

one thing I loved about the genius sidebar is the ability it gave to discover new music. HA! they removed it! looks like I'll be buying a lot less music from the Apple store! their ****ing loss!

You are getting new graphics drivers. be patient.

What a disappointment.

Where are all the major changes? All I see is they sharpened some corners, took away options, and made it less organized.

And where is iTunes DJ?

And where is Cover Flow?

iTunes DJ has been replaced by Up Next.

As for cover flow, good riddance.

Why is it streaming music? I deleted all of my music months ago. This music is physcially not on my harddrive.

I don't have iTunes Match.

You can stream any iTunes music for free via iCloud.

It's perfect clear on my Retina MacBook Pro!

I really love this new iTunes, and the new mini player :)
But if people don't like the new look they can have the old by enable it.. But i think that you need to give it a chance! :p

Next to the Finder, Safari and Chrome icons when I Command-Tab, the icon for iTunes looks terrible. Wonder what they did to it since it looks normal on a retina display.

Edit: never mind, a full system reboot fixed it. still, odd...

I'm just sitting here, Safari and Macrumors on one monitor, iTunes 11 on the other, laughing and enjoying the show.

Love the new iTunes.

Me two. I knew however iTunes 11 turned out, people would still be complaining. :D

Like everything lately, the last one was better.

Agreed. I'm not going to knee-jerk uninstall this one yet, because I have to actually give myself time to adjust and see how I like it but so far it's a classic example of if it ain't broke don't fix it.

It automatically puts your purchased music in the list, showing it as "cloud" music. You can change that.

Negative... you can play on local output as well as airplay in 10.7. I just gave it a try. You have to go to multiple speakers and check computer and any other airplay speakers.

No, I did that all the time in 10.7 (computer playing in the bedroom piping to two Airplay speakers elsewhere in the house while cleaning house).

OK, cool, thanks for clarifying this for everybody. It's probably the UI changes making some features look "new" (i.e., the feature in 10.7 being less conspicuous).

It may have not been broken in the meaning of the word, but it's ridiculous to say it wasn't in need of an improvement.

Also, all of you saying iTunes 5 was the best looking iTunes yet. I guarantee if iTunes 11 was exactly like iTunes 5, you'd all still be complaining about how it's not 'new' or what you wanted.

Gees. Apple made such a big deal out of the small version of the player, but how is this before and after an improvement? I see way more info and controls in the before image.

Hover the cursor over an active one. try and use it. I liked the look of the old one, but the functionality of the new one is far better.

So is there a reason why they can't do a 64 bit iTunes? Seems this is just another facelift not a rewrite.

The store looks nice but the player is hideous. Fire whomever designed this garbage.

I like it snappy, simple.

One thing I would like to find so far is how to play a music video and close the video portion, right now I open it in a new window and minimize that

Yah but you did buy music on iTunes. So now you can access all your previous purchases. iTunes match was just to match your old ripped stuff with there servers so you have access to it in the cloud.

What the hell is Up Next? I don't see any menu item for that.

Furthermore where is the ability to show upcoming songs and previously played songs as well as allowing remote voting from iOS devices to the iTunes DJ? Why would Apple cripple their software?

And cover flow was great for when you're entertaining or having parties, can have the now playing song displayed complete with high res album art. A nice feature that should still be there.

Hopefully be able to downgrade soon.
