Not a fan of iHub, but iMedia could work. iPlay? iCenter? iCore? iWorld? iUniverse (AT&T wouldn't like that)? Or maybe even use a symbol: i![]()
Also, do they have to keep the "i"? It seems like most of their "i" products are hardware. iTunes is the only one that's software. iOS doesn't count. I realize most people are just used to the name now and I know it's a very minor thing, but the "Tunes" moniker and icon just doesn't seem to fit anymore.
I agree in general, you can see the direction and some improvements. However there are a few UI elements which are less usable than the previous.
1) Having the traditional sidebar open along with the new design is much more user-friendly and faster to access everything.
2) The lack of speaker icons which imply "volume low/off" and "volume high/max" beside the volume slider is a stupid usability blunder and the spacing between the volume rocker and buttons is horrible. The Airplay button should be to the right of the 'display LCD'
3) The window design is inconsistent from just about every other OSX application where you have a small area that is both a 'Title Bar' and holds the window control buttons on the far left and right. iTunes does away with this and breaks consistency by bumping physically active parts of the program up to where there would traditionally be a Title (iTunes).
I do like the new gradient on the player, and I do like the brighter more modern look of the player window itself however. The use of lightly patterned backgrounds is nice too.
Except the "entire bar" is not dedicated to just playlists... it has the following:
Music
Movies
TV Shows
iTunes Store
Purchased
Home Sharing
Genius
Playlists....
but yeah, we can agree to disagree![]()
How do i select or unselect tracks?![]()
How do i select or unselect tracks?![]()
Ok, how do I get Lyrics to show up while a song is playing???
Oh, yeah. lol, brain fart. Still I don't think they need to stay with the naming scheme. It's a fundamentally different application than the others.iPhoto
iMovie
iChat
iMessage
Hmm, I see. I saw that, but it said they would be deleted from iCloud which worried me.You can select the tracks you want to hide, right click, and delete.
YMMV: I did this once and they reappeared, did it again and they stayed gone.
Like this?
Here's with a blue ring as well:
And a darker one:
The pop-up I'm getting has "deleted from iCloud" with the second line of "These will be hidden from your iCloud purchases." And I can unhide them through my account page in the store.Hmm, I see. I saw that, but it said they would be deleted from iCloud which worried me.
Oh, I see. You're hiding them from iCloud, which in turn hides them in the list. That's not so desirable for me, as my dad has some content which he wants to see but that I don't.The pop-up I'm getting has "deleted from iCloud" with the second line of "These will be hidden from your iCloud purchases." And I can unhide them through my account page in the store.
I'm only doing this with things I have previously purchased through the store...not sure if that makes a difference.
Woohoo. Hopefully it lives up to the speculation and won't have many issues.

People are actually complaining about album art in the lower left hand corner?
Sad.
OK this is horrible!!
While playing an album with the new iTunes on my 15" MBPR and in parallel scrolling in this thread sometimes the song lags in playing!
Wtf?!
it's under the View Menu
View options and there is a slider bar which lets you select multiple sizes
What's sad is the completely unnecessary removal of this feature; which I used extensively. Some of us like being able to look at the artwork while the song is playing; and yes I know that you can click the artwork at the top and another window will open. This is a piss-poor substitute as the window does not stay on top. The artwork also will not change when you click on a song that is not currently playing, as the preview did. I love everything else about the new iTunes, but scrapping the preview window does not sit well with many of us.
