Not sure what I've done, but now iTunes is completely unresponsive. It crashes immediately after opening it.

I would advise anyone who used iTunes Match in the past to wait on this update. It's a mess.

I use iTunes Match, and I'm not experiencing that problem. (Sorry that you are.)

The Connect tab on the Mac version doesn't let me see who I'm following like the iOS version does. Does anyone know where to find this in iTunes?

Still about 15fps scrolling through my 70K+ music library in full screen list view on a tricked out 5K iMac.

Oh, I'm scrolling through album view with 119 albums on a 15" Retina MacBook Pro. If I scroll fast in list view I get a few jerky movements, but not anywhere as low as 15fps.

Are they also releasing an update to the Apple Watch? It's says on their website under Music and Membership you do but there's nothing as of yet..

I never had iTunes Match so I'm confused as to what's happening. I guess I have it turned on on my iOS devices and the playlists are syncing. I updated to iTunes 12.2 and I turned on iCloud Library on my Mac. So now when I plug my iOS device it, it doesn't sync music because iCloud Library is on. Is anything that I want locally on an iOS device required to be in a Playlist and then on my iOS device I have to download that playlist? Just trying to understand how this works.

Also, these little clouds...what does that mean exactly? I still have a copy on my hard drive, yes? And what about the stuff that isn't in the cloud? I have a lot of mixtapes, things that aren't on iTunes or Apple Music. How to I get them on iOS devices?

I haven't felt like such a n00b on an Apple device in a long time. lol

I'm beginning to think us Windows users are not going to see it tonight.

I hope soon. I got a VMware trial just to try to jailbreak. lol. It won't let me use the previous version of iTunes in Windows because 12.2 on OS X created some new file or something. Ugh.

I can't seem to play any tracks from Apple Music. All of the ones I've added through my iPhone are grayed out and nothing in "For You" plays.

Ugh.

Remove them and re-add them. This happened to me with stuff I'd added while I still had the old iTunes.

Just got it after removing iTunes from my Firewall connections and reauthorizing it.

No clue how I thought to look there, but now it is accepting connections and playing, again. Bah. Random.

Okay, so I really love that I can "add to my music" all of the albums and then make it available for offline use like it's one of my actual albums. Especially love that I can edit its tags and album artwork.

Something odd is happening on some of them though. Only certain tracks are adding and nothing happens when I click "add".

I have family sharing setup, but when my wife goes to her phone it asks for her to sign up, what am I missing

Ok so using 2 macs I've tested it out
1. I installed iTunes 12.2 on a Mac that had iTunes Match enabled. Libraries appeared fine but all Apple music songs were disabled and had to be deleted and re added in order to be played.
2. On MacBook, I disabled iTunes Match. I had no music locally stored on that Mac. Only my purchases in the cloud appeared. I update to iTunes 12.2 and with no issues, Apple music worked flawless. No greyed out apple music soungs and whatever I had uploaded into the cloud via iTunes Match on the other Mac appeared still! They have merged libraries.
3. Sync between devices is very fast. Delete one song on one device and before I can even look at my other devices, it's gone

Tell me about it. Loaded iTunes holding down either alt key or command key. chose library, iTunes folder, previous libraries, picked one from about an hour ago before I chose to use this ****** service. Asked if I wanted to integrate with iCloud. Clicked no. All back to normal. No stupid cloud icons, playlists back to normal.

I can confirm this totally fixed the issues I was having (playlists, album artwork, duplicates). Thanks, lmddawson.

I let iTunes Match lapse earlier this year and went back to manually managing my music on the Mac and the iPhone. I had some clean up to do, but it wasn't too bad. Months ago I cleaned up tons of duplicates that it made.

Today after updating I canceled the prompt that asked me to sign up for iCloud Music. So far, my library is intact and not all messed up. I had too much fear of it getting destroyed by letting an online, automated system fumble with it again.

i'm having to rebuild my ancient iTunes library file in order to use iCloud Music Library but eh! it was bound to happen anyway, better now than later!
