Thank you for this info. My iTunes kept crashing and I was wondering what was causing the issue.

So finally I know the difference between iTunes Match and Apple Music's own "matching system", if you have, let's say, crappy mp3, it matches them and let's you download a .m4p files, which is essentially the same exact copy iTunes has in the store, but with DRM, it also uploads music your music to the cloud if it isn't on Apple Music already...

The benefits of iTunes Match is that apart from uploading the stuff and matching, it actually lets you keep your copy, forever, even if you stop paying for iTunes Match, you can't have in on the cloud anymore, but the matched copy is yours forever. So if you want to keep your music, iTunes Match still is the way to go, plus if you don't care about Apple Music you can also just subscribe to iTunes Match all by itself.

Not a bad deal.

The other radio stations still appear to be working, but Beats 1, click, shows 0:00 and doesn't change, the Airplay tab disappears and there's silence. That's on OSX. Is it broken or am I not listening to it right?

Well ain't this a bitch?

Unsupported mac?
Well, according to everything and anything I can find on Apple's site, my Mac is supported for this. Running 10.8.5. The specs for Beats 1 say nothing about this, nor does the iTunes 12.2 specs.

iTunes 12.2 download page:

Mac System Requirements
Hardware:
  • Mac computer with an Intel processor
  • To play 720p HD video, an iTunes LP, or iTunes Extras, a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or faster processor is required
  • To play 1080p HD video, a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or faster processor and 2GB of RAM is required
  • Screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater; 1280x800 or greater is required to play an iTunes LP or iTunes Extras
  • Broadband Internet connection to use Apple Music, the iTunes Store, and iTunes Extras
  • Apple combo drive or SuperDrive to create audio, MP3, or back-up CDs; some non-Apple CD-RW recorders may also work. Songs from the Apple Music catalog cannot be burned to a CD.

Karaoke on playlists... Just had the "redneck woman" playlist created for me. Fun. So I play it and I notice there is something odd about the Taylor Swift song. It's Karaoke. Taylor swift has been removed. Of course I have this song in My Music but I can change it or fix it, Just a bad playlist. Karaoke should NEVER be selected for a playlist.

I realize you said you'd give them a pass (but only due to servers being bogged down....) but I think it's quite unfair to compare a newly worldwide launched product to one that's been seasoned. I'm sure Spotify had tons of growing pains to go through when it first released. It takes time and software updates before something will be buttery smooth and fast.
When Spotify first came to the U.S., it was by invitation only. I can imagine the articles by the media if Apple went that route.

Is Beats 1 supposed to be available in all the countries Apple Music is (http://www.apple.com/music/country-availability/)? I can't find an official list for that station, just says 'in over 100 countries', which is what it says for Apple Music. However I get a 403 error on the stream which rather makes it look like the two sets of 100 countries are not the same.

Is anyone else having an issue with duplicate playlist? I noticed them when I upgraded to iTunes 12.2
