Oh damn. This corrupted my iTunes library on my MacBook retina.

Anyone else had this happened? It renamed my library to (damaged) so hoping I can get it back without too much drama.

Looks like they pulled the update for now - fresh install of macOS and it's not showing up, sitting on 12.5.2.

Indeed, same here.

The .dmg download is still there though:

[doublepost=1478118699][/doublepost]And. once more.... another update which does NOT work well.

Come on, Apple! Hire a true CEO!! Get someone in who is a product guy!!!

I doubt that Tim Cook oversees iTunes personally... can I blame Cue again or is it someone else?
It's not that Tim (or Cue, or whoever) is directly responsible for an app-crash, but as CEO you are ultimately responsible for what your brand is doing.

Too many crap like this, especially with apps that can destroy the user's content, and people loose faith in the brand.

The more bad updates around (or iOS activation servers not working etc.) the more it seems the ones responsible for these issues are not well managed. No excellent quality control.

Stupid pink microphone icons on Artists view is still there. Obviously Apple does not even think that this is a bug. I am still using the original 12.5 (12.5.0.158) that came with the first release of Sierra which does not exhibit this problem and I refuse to upgrade.

they really need to let us do it, so much more simpler

Updated to iTunes 12.5.3 when it was offered a couple of days ago, and now got 12.5.3 offered as an update again (with the same version and notes listed). Looks like the full version went from 12.5.3.16 to 12.5.3.17 after installing the new update just now.

Does it fix the inability to delete tracks from the smart playlists though?

I'm also missing the ability to convert to MP3 since 12.5.0. ALAC and AAC works fine, but if I select MP3 it's just not there in the convert to menu :/

Seems to be yet another iTunes update, for macOS anyway. I was on 12.5.3.16 and saw that I had an update tonight, installed it and now it is 12.5.3.17. Haven't had any problems with any of the recent updates though.

Yep, repeatedly crashing. Lasts a few minutes then gives out. I'm assuming due to the fact that I'm trying to add an album to iCML and it starts uploading on launch.

For whatever reason this is now the 3rd same software update in a week, is this just happening to me on my MacBook Pro?

Not sure I understand your reply!

All I was asking was that I seem to have had the same update 12.5.3 - 3 x times in a week!

Ta anyway
Seems like it was 12.5.2, then 12.5.3 (12.5.3.16 in particular), and then an updated 12.5.3 (12.5.3.17).

Correct, 12.5.3.17 is the latest-latest  for both Mac and Windows. Not sure if .17 fixes some of the reported issues above though.

I went from 12.5.2.xx to 12.5.2.xx to 12.5.3.xx to 12.5.3.xx to 12.5.3.17 today.

Didn't pay attention to what the other .xx release numbers were.

(2) 12.5.2 releases and (3) 12.5.3 releases. SMH.

Apple needs to get their quality control in order.

And did you notice that we now have ANOTHER iTunes 12.5.3 update, with absolutely no discernible difference between it at the last 12.5.3 update from 4 days ago, nor the 12.5.2 update from 4 days before that? What the hell is going on? What the heck am I installing???

The build numbers are different so certainly there are differences, just nothing that gets pointed out (so likely some sort of critical stability type of fixed or something of that sort).
