For heavens sake, don't tell them!Obviously it's to fix the error that they forgot to bump the iTunes Store prices by 20% also!![]()
Guess you're not updating to iOS 10 any time soon then. If I discover that, contrary to Apple's insistence, devices running iOS 10 CAN be managed from pre-12.5 versions of iTunes, then your smugness will most certainly be justified.
To clarify a bit, I only don't update iTunes on my Macbook, but you definitely bring up a good point. My most probable strategy would be to use iTunes on my PC if I had an iOS device that needed iTunes' assistance. My iPod is only on iOS 4 (I think) so it does just fine.Guess you're not updating to iOS 10 any time soon then. It's a bad sign that I now, by default, strive to find every way I can to delay updating all Apple software, including the OS.
I'm having problems of crashes with iTunes Match as posted here:- https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/itunes-12-5-3-match-crashes.2011509/
I'm going to try a roll back to 12.5.2 via Time Machine. Has anybody got some instructions for doing so easily?

Apple today released iTunes 12.5.3, which is available for macOS Sierra and OS X El Capitan users.
So it's available to Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan and Sierra users. But this isn't the first time MR has worded an article that makes it sound like software might be unavailable to users of older OS versions. Surely it would be better to be accurate about it, or else not mention which OS versions at all, rather than the possibly misleading partial list?iTunes Download Page said:Software:

Definitely not the Android app though. I just don't think they bother testing anything, they just release alpha/beta versions, then fix them some time later (while breaking other things, in case of iTunes).Given all of the quirks introduced in the past year, I don't think they bother testing anything that isn't directly related to Apple Music.
The Android app is far from perfect but it is much more stable then it was when it was in beta and it is frequently updated. The only issue is that it still did not get the new UI.Definitely not the Android app though. Yes, if you back up to time machine, grab an older copy and use that for now.Anyone else having iTunes 12.5.3 repeatedly crash?

Perhaps you're confused -- star ratings never left iTunes (iOS yes, but not iTunes). There's been an option in iTunes to show/hide Star ratings for some time now, so perhaps you had it OFF at some point? As far as changes go, at least on Windows, star ratings are back ...
I never even tried the beta, having read what people think about it. Then I paid for one month to see what happens. First crash was when I was entering my login and password. Second when I managed to see "For You" for a split second, then bang. Then it got stuck downloading something. Then I was done. The Android app is far from perfect but it is much more stable then it was when it was in beta and it is frequently updated. The only issue is that it still did not get the new UI.
