I wish I could feel a wave of hardware updates coming out of Cuppertino! Like a MacBook Pro with a Core 2 Duo Processor!!!Squonk said:I feel a wave of software updates coming out of Cuppertino!

14,000 songs?!? I imported every singlw CD in my house (that includes both my parents, my own & my sister's) and got 12,000. And all that took about 40 GB. Don't forget USB 2's top transfer speed is 480Mbits/sec (60 MBytes/s). So a little math tells us 30 GB = 30*1024 MBs = 30720 MB / 60 MB/s = 512 seconds = 8 minutes 32 sec. Remember the 480 Mbits/ sec is the theoretical max, actual throuput would be a LOT less.Proud Liberal said:I noticed that on my WinXP machine, iTunes 7.0 seemed to be much slower in transferring the library to the iPod (took me about 4.5 hours to transfer, via USB 2.0, 14,000 songs - no videos, no games, no photos). Hope this update corrects that - have you noticed if it does?

Small White Car said:Ok, I know what repairing permissions MEANS, I meant how does it affect you? Is something actually not working the way it's supposed to? Like iTunes won't shut down or freezes up or won't import music? Something like that?
I'm asking if something is actually WRONG.
Because what you've shown me is just that the permissions are DIFFERENT from the default OS X installation.
Just being DIFFERENT doesn't prove that anything's actually wrong.

Many people, including myself do this to avoid potential problems caused by recent installs. This is especially true for those of us who seldom reboot or shut down our systems!
And that, kind sir, IS the problem.BVGuitarPlayer said:Now the only reason you have to complain about the iTunes theme is that it is not built in.
