Imported a CD in 9.0.1 last night and playback while importing worked just fine for me! No spinning beach ball or any other weirdness.

As I recall, there used to be a preference setting for playback while importing but, for the life of me, I can't find it anymore.

Mark

The setting you are looking for is at the bottom of the iTunes interface, it appears after you insert a CD, right next to the Burn Disc button.

No ****. I don't understand this clamor for MMS. It's really old, and in my opinion pretty dead tech.

PLEASE PLEASE!!!!! stop saying it's dead tech or isn't any good just because YOU don't use it.
I have a 11 year old niece who has a regular phone and likes to send me pictures of her dog all the time but I can't see them.
I have friends who don't even own a computer....so how they gonna email me a picure? But they do have inexspensive phones and can send mms all day and I can't see those at all.
So for me it's not dead tech........ So if you don't like it when it comes out Friday don't use it .....but I will be happy it's here

iTunes 9.0.1 restored the zoom to miniplayer and the time measurement in playlists (from decimal to minutes) BUT they took away the ability to reorder items within a playlist. I cannot drag the tracks into the order I want, I can only order them by column heading. If I am missing something, please fill me in. Thanks!

You can change the way time is measured by simply clicking on it.

And make sure shuffle is not on if you want to rearrange playlists.

still getting the beach ball

I've tried to read every post in this 8 page thread, seems like everyone is happy that the mini player is working again but i haven't seen anyone talk about the beach balling..

Updated to iTunes 9 and you know the story. constant unpredictable beach balling.

Very happily i updated to 9.0.1 to solve the problem of 'iTunes becoming unresponsive' but its still just as bad as it was before. Mini player works great! but the entire app will still freeze. its mega annoying. what can i do?

I've never had a more annoying problem with my MacBook Pro ever. updated to SL no probs. got 4Gb RAM, no other problems with my system. help?
