It's only 165 MB for iMac G5 (2 Ghz rev b).

this is the last update!! for leopard!!!!!!

then comes Mac OS X 10.6.0 Snow Leopard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:)

Last update for Leopard before Snow Leopard is released, yes, but there will likely be 10.5.9 and maybe even 10.5.10 bug/security fixes over the next year.

I bet this means Snow Leopard will be out next month. I sure hope so.

Anyone wanna take bets that Snow Leopard will be available sometime in September?

Whenever Apple releases an OS X update, why does everyone feel the need to post how big their update was? It is clutter!

Downloading it now. Hope it fixes those random Airport issues and drops and the sudden spike on the fans sometimes for no reason.

Edit: I don't know if Safari is snappier, but for me it opens on its way down from the first bounce... about 1/4 of the way down from top to bottom of the bounce :D

I'm wondering the same. Its gonna be 165MB if your on 10.5.7, 759MB if your on 10.5.6 or earlier.

an issue that could cause some monitor resolutions to no longer appear in Displays System Preferences.
That's all I cared about. 10.5.7 messed that up big time.

Wow, it's nice to see the operating system growing up. This is my first OS update on a Mac, and it feels a lot better than on Windows or even Linux machines. It's just that it's one update, including many fixes/new features/improvements.

For some reasons, I did not install GarageBand 5.1 when it came out, although I remember allowing its update. Hmm...

By the way, on the last generation 2.26Ghz 13.3" MacBook Pro, the update is heavier: 278MB. Or it might be calculated together with the Garbage Band update...

Didn't see that one coming. So this is it for Leopard...the last major update before its successor. It'll be security updates from here on out.

278mb for me...took about 2 mins. No notable changes.

Odd enough it is 278 MB for me, and I'm also updating from 10.5.7.

Combo update is out

Stupid newbie question. What is a Combo Update and why is it 759MB versus 247MB for the "regular" 10.5.8 update?

I've converted 3 out of 4 family members to MACs and in the past we have just run System Update individually.

Looking to "share" a single download image now and have this question.

Thanks
Dean

It's not, actually. It depends on which Mac you've got as well - which is why people post it.

I'm in the middle of a large project so updating any software right now is out of the question. Does not look to effect me much anyway. I guess I find out in a week or two.

Hopefully this fixes the wifi drops I've been having with my Netgear router...kept getting annoying having to boot into windows every couple of days just to reset the router so it would recognize the MacBook again.
