I can confirm that all my i7 iMac's stuck/dead pixels on my iSight are now gone with this update, as the patch notes stated they would be. Awesome. :)

So the update went smooth for me. My update was 757.3MB. Why different sizes for everyone?
Different machines have different requirements: CPU, graphics card drivers, printer drivers, maybe optional installs like X11.

Software Updater calculates what your machine needs.

I dunno, a subdued and quite release of other hardware might not be a bad idea, especially considering I'm sure there is going to be an influx of crowds at the Apple Stores to check out the iPads. The halo effect has traditionally been very good for Apple.

Or, not release updates until after the initial halo period so as to clear out older stock?

Did Apple pull this update? My father just tried updating and is saying that software update is reporting no updates available. He's still on 10.6.2.
More likely they are rolling out the update gradually to individual users. Reading some of the comments here, it sounds like their download servers are oversubscribed right now.

All good here...

10.6.2 was my buggiest version yet with lots of beach balling and hang ups. I hoping 10.6.3 will make things run a little more smoothly. So far so good.

My Macbook Pro 13" 2009 wont' restart after applying the update. I am at the blue screen before it switches off and all I have (for 10 minutes) is a little cog.
Help?

Needed to re-enter my exchange calendar settings in iCal, and now I can no longer add delegates.

Perhaps, though I downloaded it about 25 minutes ago at 10Mb/s from a well-connected network, so there's more to consider than just Apple's distribution points.

All seems well on my 20" iMac. On 10.6.2 the only real issue I had was an excess of beachballing at times, hopefully 10.6.3 will see an end to that.

Did you run the combo update or the delta update via Software Update?

I would let it sit for at least another 10 minutes. One of the 10.5.x point updates did this to me (which one, I can't recall at the moment) and I had to let it sit for about 15 minutes before it finally restarted. If it still hasn't recycled in 15 or 20 minutes you might try to do a hard shutdown and reboot.

Spaces fully operational

Well, all seems to wrk fine so far, I checked the Expose and Spaces snap problem, and its seems to be fixed finally, I don't thanks Apple, because they broke it from 10.5 to 10.6, but anyway its good to know you care about.
With Aperture 3.02, opening my 700MB picture this happened: See image. but after 10 seconds or so, it came back to normal.

So far so good, finger crossed.

I did the Software Update. I will let it run for a bit more.. I hope the system doesn't screw up, as I am currently at home for the holidays, and my Time Machine backups are at Uni.

Yes!

They updated the iMac icon for my iMac at home in Finder so it looks right! That was worth the 400+ MB update (and over 700 MB for my 27" iMac at home...)!

UPDATE TIME for the BEST OS on Earth!!! Downloading it as I type this!

Thank you, Apple!!!

MS IS DEAD. AND SO IS DELL.

p.s.: By the way, 10.6.2 has been ABSOLUTELY flawless to me; nothing to complain.

Yeah, so the guidance isn't real clear on what to do if an update hangs, but at this point you can either leave it up indefinitely to see if it reboots, or hard reboot it and see what happens. If it were me, I'd probably hard reboot it after 20 minutes if it hadn't done so on it's own and see what happens.

My guess is you'll be fine after a reboot, but of course, your mileage may vary.

You need to run maintenance on log files. Why?

Do you ever use whatis and locate?

I don't know about you, but I use locate all the time. It is like Spotlight for the Terminal - only better.

However, since Leopard the cron-jobs (are they still run by cron?) are also run if your system is not up at the time specified. So no need to run them manually.

I never get excited for these updates, because I never notice any changes on my MBP. :(

Oh well! I'm bored so I'll update...
