Core animation still jerky

I am very disappointed to report that Spaces and the Dashboard are still jerky on a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo Blackbook running with an external monitor in extended desktop mode.

Apple seems unable or unwilling to develop a decent video driver for the X3100 controller. Shame…

Sorry, but I don't get it when people say " I'm not updating" or it's "not broken". Because eventually, you will be upgrading your OS in the future anyway! If you are not downloading it now, you will later, so just download the damn thing.

How is it in clamshell mode?

PHP 5.3.2 was released a few weeks ago.

New Update messed up my computer !!!

Does anyone know why my computer refuses to boot up normally after the update. I followed the process and did the update, it restarted and displayed a message saying "you need to restart your computer, hold down the power button until it turns off, then press it again" I followed its command and it reboots and goes right back to that message. I have tried several times and still nothing.

Data Collection: Mac OS X v10.6.3 can collect diagnostic and usage information from your Mac and send it to Apple for analysis automatically. The information is only collected with your explicit consent, and is submitted anonymously to Apple. For more details, see this article.

Hopefully this leads to software updates with targeted fixes for specific problems. Or, maybe Apple will pass this information onto 3rd party developers, in terms of what they learn about why certain programs randomly quit or lock up and need to be forced to quit.

Lets hope

I think cron was replaced with launchd. Yes, according this page on Apple's site:

Cron hasn't been replaced - it's still there and completely usable. However Apple uses launchd now for those cases where it used to use cron - so by default the crontab is empty.

For some tasks I find it's simpler to set up and use cron and/or anacron than to mess with launchd.

I still use CRON for something as well. Maybe its just force of habit. I do use launchd for an airport hardware disable due to a weird DNS issue we have.

unfortunately no, i'm at home... the middle of nowhere and mine is going @200KB/S - at uni though i love my 97.15MB Download Speed ;)
What's the fastest you've ever seen coming over the Web? The best I've ever noticed (before today) was 4.2MB/s when I downloaded NIN Ghosts. Most things never exceed 2MB/s

Sounds like a kernel panic. Can you post your specs?

Updated and now Pro-Tools 8 doesn't work. Cheers Apple :/

Its never a smart move to update an OS without checking if your pro Apps are compatibel with the new OS, my experience is that it might take a couple of weeks/months before OS updates are officially supported, and i think pro tools is one of the Pro Apps that are specially slow on supporting it.
I wont be updating till Serato tell me on there website that 10.6.3 is officially supportedfor there DJ software.

Ps had anybody updated here that also uses scratch live 1.9.2 ;-).

Any reports on Expose/Spaces choppiness? I will not revert from my beloved old Expose hack unless the issue is fixed.

Yeah your right..i just searched what you suggested...Do you have any ideas on how I can fix it with out doing a clean install? I have a 2.4 Ghz Black Macbook with a 250gb hitachi hd and i was running SL on it..I believe the 10.6.2 with no problem..sadly..I don't have any back up of my data..

Nobody should do the upgrade until you make a clone/backup. At least you can go back to the previous backup if the upgrade doesn't work. Anyone with a 2008 mac pro do the update without any hiccups?
