The download started quickly for me, but is now running at little more than dial-up speeds. ETA is currently 5 hours and rising.

I think we can honestly hold up on a Mac OS X update. Hello Apple! We have an iPhone problem! Get that resolved first, then release an update for the Macs!

Ah great, a huge download like this will definitely improve the server load

This just gave me a mad mental image of S Jobs in a cupboard at HQ fanning THE sole Apple server with the side panel of a PowerMac G5 trying to keep it cool while J Ive is over his shoulder talking about the lovely aluminium panel and how he was inspired to design it so...

I should maybe lie down for a while....... :D

Awesome, except my iMac is out for repair :p, I'm stuck using old pc till tomorrow.. Apple promised it would take 48hrs..

All of this waiting and still no official implementation to turn off the dedicated GPU in the MacBook Pros. I mean, I have no trouble with BitNinja's tool, but Apple should seriously implement this feature officially!

Just downloaded mine (650MB or so) in less than a minute on Comcast 50Mb service. Apple's servers are not bogged down.

That was perhaps the funniest thing I have read all day.

Downloading/Installing now. Servers must be shot, high download times.

I very much doubt that the same employees and servers are responsible for both the Software Update system and the Apple Store.
