Microsoft releases a Windows 7 update that:

* Addresses full screen performance issue in Paint
* Corrects a mishap in Notepad that causes the About screen to slightly flicker on some graphics cards
* Addresses a minor transition rendering issue in PowerPoint

:D

Is it just me or do a few of those OSX fixes seem pretty minor and almost unrelated to the OS?

Seems to run smoothly. Mail needed to update my library, but that's all I've seen so far.

Mail DataBase Upgrade..

Ok after update, I opened Mail, and it had to do some App Upgrade + Database Upgrade... so I guess the 10.6.4 touched something there also.

I'm going in. Surprisingly it downloaded pretty quickly...about 3mins total

Dropbox problems?

Anyone else have problems with dropbox after the update? I'm not connected and it says it can't secure a connection. Trying to figure this out now, but does anyone have an idea?

Pretty pumped about the VPN stuff. Hopefully my connection will last longer than 57 minutes without a restart.

Grrr. No TRIM.

I had to let go of OSX on my MBP with Intel x25-m G2 for Win7 a couple of weeks ago. After a considerable churn of files in and out it was no longer feeling like OSX was running on a crazy fast SSD.

A NTFS format and enabling compression followed by running Intel SSD Optimizer and it is flying again. Having not run Windows on Mac for some time I was suspecting lot of BootCamp hassles including crappy Trackpad support but was glad to see it all just works with BC 3.1. After downclocking the Nvidia 9600GT battery life is acceptable too. So no reason to go back to OS X without TRIM.

Wonder if the SSDs Apple fits on the MBPs out of factory also suffer from same issues without TRIM support?
