People complain about airprint saying this mac os update did not enable the airprint feature. guys you need iTunes 10.1 to enable this on your mac. same for pc users. wait until itunes is updated. I got myself a beta 2 of itunes 10.1 and airprint works flawlessly.

BE PATIENT! :)

WTF???

Should I be worried?

EDIT: Just read that it´s not a valid file!

I have the 2nd beta of itunes 10.1 and airprint isn't working for me so I'd say being patient is getting me nowhere fast.

10.1 beta 2, 10.6.5 os, 4.2 gm seed iphone 4 = NO airprint :(

i have two wireless networks - printer is on one wifi, im on another, but they are linked together via my time capsule (which creates the 2nd network) - printing from mac works fine. but airprint is unsuccessful.

tried connecting iphone and mac to the same wifi the printer is on - still no printer found on iphone. :(

True. There is a very good reason for this actually.

Where did you get verification it's true, did you test it? And what's the reason? It would seem weird to not let users back up their system folders and apps to restore in case there's a crash.

Before insulting someone, try it out for yourself. In the time you spent in this forum you could have answered your own question. But in case that is too difficult for you, see all the other responses that agree with me.

If what you said is true, that's a good reason for many people to NOT update. If you suspect something may be broken, isn't "try it out" pretty much the worst possible advice? And what other responses agree with you, I haven't seen any others confirming that.

Great, now I'm stuck reinstalling OS X tonight. Don't use the link guys. Wait for a proper combo update from Apple or use software update.

Without official 10.6.5 Combo package, you might care to try 10.6.4 Combo and see if that can resurrect your fouled up OS. It'll be quicker than a complete reinstall if it works. And then wait for the official 10.6.5 Combo. I wonder what is Apple playing? Why not release the Combo package at the same time, as per all past OS updates. Ummm...

Can't get the update on my Powermac. I'll see if I can find the link on Apple's site.

I am starting to wonder if there is some problem with the combo update not being released like they would normally be.

The download in software update seems way to small compared to 10.6.4 which was much bigger.

will just sit and watch and wait for the real deal to appear when apple decides to put the link up on there site.

the combo update is showing up for me just fine, has been for awhile. i just don't want to update to it because i have a flashed video card and 10.6.4 broke my dual monitor support, so i'm still on 10.6.3.

I can still see my printer listed with 10.1 beta 2, last 10.6.5 beta (10h748? Previous to that I think I had 544 or whatever the version that had been on the iOS beta page) and 4.2GM on iPhone 4 and iPad.

Combo updates are only needed if you are a few updates behind and you want to catch up. A delta will work fine 99.99% of the time.

Damn. Airprint refuses to work for me. my iphone can't find a printer yet it's setup to be shared on 10.6.5.

You're not on 10.6.4 so you need it. I don't think there's a way for people on 10.6.4 to get it to show up in Software Update (shame you can't do that or even make it a preference), has to be downloaded manually.
