Everyone,

Quit babbling nonsense. Here's the AirPrint fix, I tested and packaged it myself:

Get it while it's hot!

PS: **** the Patent Trolls!

Not to be suspicious, but can anyone confirm the executable in this package isn't malicious? The only person to confirm it worked just happened to register on Macrumors today to say it worked.

Again, not wanting to be suspicious, but I trust nobody!

I have just tested it and it works great with my HP Laserjet. This is so lame from Apple!

I just tried it and my Ipad finds my HP PSC 1610 that's connected to my Base Station. Before this fix, my Ipad wouldn't find any printers. I'd try printing from my Ipad but the wife is sleeping.

A Little Confused...

On the Finder menu bar, go to GO then select GO TO FOLDER

enter /usr/libexec/cups/filter

repeat the same for the files in the mime folder

/usr/share/cups/mime/

Chuck-
Forgive me as I'm very tired, but, can you walk me/us all through each and every step like we're 6 year olds? I just want to make sure I'm doing this 100% correctly. Oh yeah....I'm buzzzed, too. Thanks, brother! :D

That's the thing....on the link to the website it reads that one of the files is named
/usr/libexec/cups/filter/urftopdf...while here, on his post, it reads /usr/libexec/cups/filter....notice the urfftopdf is missing? Also, I just want a little more clarification on the procedure in regards to the mime folder. If this just helps me, that's cool. A fellow Apple fan was helped by another. But, if this helps a boatload of people looking for the same answers, he's a hero. Not bad for just typing out a few simple instructions.

I didn't say it worked. I didn't even use the method you're asking about.....

I just copied the text found in the zip file. I can confirm that following these instructions works:

Which files go where?

/usr/libexec/cups/filter/urftopdf
/usr/share/cups/mime/apple.convs
/usr/share/cups/mime/apple.types

-The last 2 files will need to replace the existing ones.
-Reboot
-Delete your printer from Print and Fax settings from System Preferences.
-Add your printer again from Print and Fax settings panel.
-Enjoy!

When you go to /usr/libexec/cups/filter you'll wanna add the urfftopdf file. When to go the mime folder, all you do is replace the files you downloaded by copy and pasting them. It will ask if you want to replace and select ok.

Thats what I did, and it worked. I just printed a test page.

Installed on my later black MacBook.
Is it my imagination or does the graphics seem more clear and smoother?
Looks awesome!!!

If nobody else has noticed this, it might just be the lighting in this motel room.

my steam games still play the same

Apple's servers must have been busy with this update... The download was slower than usual.

So far so good, though. Been up and running with it for the past half hour. 

As far as the AirPrint being pulled... I had the prerelease 10.6.5 installed and the final 10.6.5 wasn't showing up in Software Update. So I downloaded and installed the combo updater, fully prepared to follow the manual steps described here to get AirPrint sharing back. But, to my surprise, the files were still there and AirPrint still worked. So it looks like if you had the prerelease you can update and it will still work. Or maybe I just got lucky...

Is anyone having iPhone issues with 10.6.5? I can't seem to get my iPhone to connect reliably to my computer. Either it pings multiple times as if it's a loose connection, it gives me an error message, or doesn't connect at all. It's not the cable as I've tried multiple ones and they all work when plugged into a charger.

Any thoughts?

The fix works!

Thanks, ChuckG!

AirPrint now works great on my Brother MFC-9840CDW!

However, the formatting of Word documents is not as good as Print n Share, because the latter actually opens up Word on the computer and prints from there. But PDF's, email, and photos seem fine (I haven't tested any other document types). AirPrint is much less cumbersome than Print n Share.

Not to be a smartass... but that's what i've been saying all along (just had a 10 page night sleep)

Thanks to the guys who found out which files were needed!

StarCraft II is finally running on High/Medium settings at a playable frame rate in OS X. Playing on Medium/Low before was just pathetic. However, it's still not as good as playing on Windows XP via Boot Camp...

13" 2010 MBP here.

Smooth Scroll

Yaaaaaaaaaaay! :D Smooth Scroll for older MacBook Pros! :D (4,1 / Early 2008) Awesome update!!
