does anybody know why they decided to not integrate it into iTunes? Would be a one store stop for all the digital shopping needs (and iTunes should anyway be renamed since it is already more than just tunes)

We could not complete your App Store request. An unknown error occurred (100).

Every time I tried to download an app so far.

Guess everything's not fully up yet.

Oh, this is in the US App Store btw.

Can everybody stop using the Mac App store so I don't get an error when I download Twitter please! :)

It's a neat touch when the App store already reports that I've installed Aperture 3.

So basically there won't be any professional software for the Mac anymore because everyone will be forced to compete with the cheap prices in the future. Great.

I'M SO EXITED! I can't wait to see low prices and a good place for getting high quality apps. I have been looking into this for both Windows and Mac OS X since I discovered Ubuntu's Software Center.

Good luck aapl for the app store - hope it takes off well for both consumers and the aapl stock

I'm very interested to see if Apple plans to allow games bought on the new Mac store to be used on the Apple TV some time in the future. Maybe using Airplay or something plus a new bluetooth controller.

Already all over this.

Just downloaded Stuffit Expander for kicks. Looks good.

Then Angry Birds.

This level of ease and convenience is absolutely sick.

An App Store for Macs via a separate, dedicated app??

****ing genius. Simple as that.

Bejeweled 3 for $19.99 ??? Not sure if I am spoiled by the iPhone/iPad prices but that seems to be way too much and from the screenshots it looks like just a blown up version of Bejeweled from the iPhone.

That depends on what you're after I guess. For instance, there won't be a cheap alternative to Final Cut Pro/Studio.

Apple TV is an iOS device not Mac OS X. Therefore, if anything, you would get iPad apps on the Apple TV or yet another store for Apple TV-specific apps at 1080p resolution.

You don't think iTunes is bloated enough already?

Great deal on Aperture, I think, at 79.99 vs. the box copy at 199.99...

Yeah, a great deal. I don't have the words to describe how SCREWED I feel again. I've paid 300 bucks for Aperture and bought every update on the way.

Now they sell Aperture 3 for LESS than I have paid for the 3.0 upgrade, and according to their advertisements, I can install the AppStore version on as many devices as I own, while the license for the boxed version only allowed for the installation on ONE desktop machine and ONE notebook.

Or do I now magically get the same license for my version of Aperture? Or can I register it and get it turned into an AppStore version?

This also wonderfully completely destroys the resell value of my retail copy of Aperture 3, should I have decided to switch to Lightroom or Bibble.

Being an Apple customer is an idiot proof way to quickly lose a lot of money.

So, if I buy an app on one computer, can I download it on all my other computers?

Not seeing the update for 10.6.6

I am not seeing the update with Software Update. Is it because I have the beta installed for Mac App development? Do I need to downgrade it to 10.6.5?

Because there aren't already cheap and free apps on the Mac they have to "compete" with. ???

I'm impressed with the interface and the ease of use. App Store knows which software that's already installed (and registered). And downloading new apps is easy. Twitter, TextWrangler, and StuffIt so far.

Tempted by Aperture. Also tempted by Pixelmator.
