Wow

Works great for me, just bought Pages and Aperture, great deals!!
Quick downloads as well.

We could not complete your App Store request. An unknown error occurred (100).

Every time I tried to download an app so far.

Guess everything's not fully up yet.

Oh, this is in the US App Store btw.

Same in the UK store for me. It also didn't realise I already had Stuffit Expander ;) but then since it's free, I don't mind a re-download to get it 'handled' by the store.

I wonder how long before someone successfully backports the Mac App Store to Leopard? There are no doubt frameworks involved beyond just dragging the app across.

Very nice and very excited about the new app store. Glad to see Apple taking one of the things I loved about shopping with Adobe and making it 10x better.

I would also love to get some of that ultra compact toolbar action in the app store, shoved into Safari and other apps.

hmm, the toolbar was the first thing that caught my eye and I didn't like it. The bottons for minimize/maximize look somehow lost with way too much space on top and bottom. Well, guess this will be the new standard and I will get used to it.

If it gives you an error, turn the whole computer off and on again. It's working for me now after not working before.

Off and on. Works.

Yea I just had to reboot to get rid of error too. This seems to work for now.

Of note - Aperture is in the App Store, but none of the Final Cut products are - no Express, no Pro, no Studio.

You do realize how pointless the Final Cut Studio would be to download, right? It's ~60GB. I wouldn't want to even waste my time downloading it even on my fast connection.

FCS3 is a 50+GB package.
With that size, it wouldn't really make sense to have it available through the App Store, IMO.
Maybe they'll put the next version of FCE on the store, seeing as it is only a few hundred MBs.

Aperture is going to turn into the upsell of the century for Apple at this price.

Exactly. I wonder if this means an update is coming soon. They are selling it for $20 less than what they sold the upgrade version for in the stores, and $120 less than what they still are trying to get for the boxed version. I'd have never purchased it at $200, but am thinking about it at $80. It looks like a volume play here. Promote it heavily in the App Store and get lots of people who never would have looked at it to buy a copy.

OK.. this Mac App Store is a bad thing. It's way too easy for me to open my wallet now! :D Just bought Angry Birds and Flight Control HD. If I'm not careful, I'll spend all my money here!

Early I see

What would be more interesting is if you would NOT have to buy the entire studio, but pick the apps that you want/need (similar to the CS5 apps). The concern is that there are so many shared libraries that if each app needed to be self-contained, these apps would be even bigger.

So Leopard 10.5 users aren't invited to this party either...unless we pay to upgrade to SL. Hurrumph!

SL has been out two years, and it's like $20. You've had your chance to get the latest and greatest, it's obvious you don't want it.

does anybody know why they decided to not integrate it into iTunes? Would be a one store stop for all the digital shopping needs (and iTunes should anyway be renamed since it is already more than just tunes)

I agree. I thought it would have been in all Mac Based iTunes. But maybe because iTunes is cross platform, they didn't want two separate versions for Mac and Windows?

One thing I don't appreciate is every app I install going into my dock. I like Angry Birds, but not enough to have it in my dock. Same goes for Twitter. I wonder if there is/will be an option to customize this? I guess Lion will have the Mission Control feature so maybe it will stop doing this.

Is it actually installing the app to the Application folder, but putting a shortcut to the dock, or does it install apps completely different?

I've already set aside a Mac Apps budget to go along with my iPhone apps budget. Next is iPad.

But I'm willing to pay for Nice Things™.

I restarted and now it seems to be working. No clue why but that's what happened.

It also didn't realize I had StuffIt and Evernote both installed but figured, what's the harm in re-downloading, for the same reason.

Happy it realized I already had Pages, Keynote, iPhone, Numbers, etc. installed. Would have been pretty ticked if I'd had to buy them again to get them store-integrated.

I already have Final Cut Studio, so yes I do know how big it is. I was just putting the information out there.

FC Express, on the other hand, is 250MB, so that would be perfectly reasonable to sell on the App Store. Less so for LiveType, which is about 550MB.

Anyone know yet if the version of Remote Desktop is the full, unlimited client version??

If so, that's a really great deal.

No iWork '11 in sight. Sigh.

Also, I noticed that the App Store recognized that I have iLife 11 already installed on my Mac, but it doesn't recognize I have iWork 09 installed. Interesting.

I noticed this too. Doesn't the main feature also say 'All new iWork'? Or am i thinking of 'All new iLife'?

Yeah, I know it's in the Applications folder. I misspoke. It is putting a shortcut on the dock, which I don't appreciate.

Well, I guess I'm glad for everyone that's getting Aperture for $79. I just bought it at the store literally a week ago for $180. Kind of makes me sick to the stomach. Oh well, I guess I don't really need that extra $100 in my pocket anyway. :(
