I downloaded the update but when I open iTunes and play a song, the whole system crashes everytime.

Anyone else having these same issue's ?

yeah, i'm having this problem too. I don't even have to play a tune -- just open iTunes and the whole machine freezes. Rare crashes and freezes aren't as rare any more :(

Traveling this week and made the mistake of updating before I left... have to learn my lesson the hardway I guess.

For the record, I used Software Update from 10.6.6 on a 2010 MBA 13" Ultimate .

I don't know if this is related to 10.6.7 or not but I synced my iPad and iPhone sequentially this morning and each time I checked a new box to sync a specific artist/playlist, iTunes froze for 30 seconds. Once the sync actually started, it was fine.

Just did a complete reinstall before I did this. 10.6.0 on my 2009 iMac and did the combo to 10.6.7.

Ever since the update to 10.6.7 when I load a CD or mount a disk, my desktop icons have changed to 24 x 24, although this is not a massive issue just strange. CMD+J to change them back.

So far so good here. Ahhh, it always refreshing having a new point version added to your OS.

My bluetooth was not working and now its working again, what a nice surprise!

this update killed my 2010 MBP :(
sat there for about 10 minutes and then displayed "The update couldn't be installed" error. Forced me to restart and never booted back up. Just sat at the gray screen forever. Well, more than an hour, before I decided to put it out of its misery. Reinstalled 10.6.3 from the disk. The 10.6.7 update still failed, but 10.6.6 did go through. Now some apps don't start (I only tried iPhoto before going to sleep). Crap, didn't expect anything like that from Apple - first time in 5 years that I'm having problems with OS. Not fun.

After reinstalling 10.6.3, did you use the Combo Update for 10.6.7?

what do you mean trolling? im new to mac and noticed the processes section of istat saying idle was at 100%. i thought something was using up all that.

geeze why dont you ****

Don't let it bother you....unless you express fawning adoration for all things Apple in every post you make you're automatically a troll.

Welcome to Macrumors!

On a topical note, I installed last night on my big iMac (pre-Metal enclosure) with no issues.

This makes me think we are not going to see widespread TRIM support til Lion.

There is no point to implement in SL TRIM function when in 2 3month time this will be standard in Lion. You can wait couple of month i asuming :)

I hope this fixes the problem when sleeping and waking up and not being able to access SMB shares.

I hope too because i have same problem, SMB shares become sleepy and i cannot access them when computer go to sleep.

What the heck do you have for an Internet?
It takes me about 1 Hr to do that.

120Mb/20Mb

Anything about late 2010 iMac 27" noises and (in my case) squeaks. ?

Just asking.. :)

what noises and squeaks ??

Downloaded the combo update (1,2GB) in less than 1,5 minute. Here in The Netherlands we have 120 Mbit/s cable. Nice!

Hey neighbor i asuming you are on Ziggo :)

After reinstalling 10.6.3, did you use the Combo Update for 10.6.7?

no, i actually just went to software update and let it do its thing.
i think what it actually did was installed the combo 10.6.6 and then install 10.6.7. will be playing with it tonight again :(

My battery only shows 3h of battery life (i have a new 2011 MBP) instead of before (more than 7h).. battery just dropped within 15minutes from 100% to 89% by doing nothing!..

Anyone else with this problem? Or any solution??

At the risk of getting flammed I'll add my 2c. Of course the combo update worked fine on a mbp, but also worked great on two hackintoshes. Thats win win for ya.

This broke my printer drivers (Canon Imagerunner C3170). I can now only print in the slower raster mode and not the default, quicker UFR mode.

I got trim support. Got it from the the factory, only waiting to see if the update removes it. Hope not.

Have you installed the update by now? Did it remove the "unique" TRIM support? Or can anyone with a new MBP and SSD confirm TRIM support is still available?
Seems odd if they dropped support after 1 month with a general update on those devices.

Hasn't fixed my SDHC problem...

Hi.

Is anyone else experienceing this?

Device:
MBP 13" (early 2011) - the new one!

  • Reads a SanDisk Extreme III 2Gb SD card.
  • doesn't pick up at all a SanDisk Extreme Pro 8Gb SD card.
Tried the card in my local friendly Apple Store (Liverpool One) and al the new early 2011 mobile computers don't read teh card (not even in Disk Utility)

HOWEVER:
All current-line iMac and MBA do read the card (I tested these in-store).

Called Apple support and they say "I'm not alone", but can't tell me more.

The card is read perfectly well using a 35-1 media adaptor via USB on my MBP, and works perfectly well in my camera.

Go figure! I just hope it's nothing to do with Sandybridge! sigh...

Try renaming a file on the Desktop after the update. The problem is partially fixed since Snow Leopard 10.6.0 was released originally.

Use the delete (backspace) key and it returns though.

Lucky. I have 16 Mb down / ? up here in the States through Comcast. I think the fastest connection for regular people Comcast offers is like 50 down, though for businesses get up to 100 Mbps. Kinda wish the US would improve its infrastructure more and not just go after profits.

The offer us 105 down/ 10 up for like 200 a month...
