Went the Combo update on my early 2009 24" iMac.

Update went well, now seems a fair bit quicker, even with 2004 Office. No issues I can see.

My WindowServer Process died after a few minutes of me being logged in

It just logged me out. Now it seems to be alright...

I had this problem in 10.6.0 and 10.6.1 a lot! Then they fixed it. Now in 10.6.6 it reappeared sometimes. Filed a bug-report twice. Looks like it is still present in 10.6.7. Too bad. I need those Rosetta-Carbon-Applications. And they are most likely the reason for this.

Shame, I was hoping for a proper update to SMB considering how much it had been flagged up in the developer seeds. In particular, I hoped for DFS support. Apparently it's coming in 10.7 though (so presumably they are updating the version of SMB).

It looks like the Get Info rendering issues are still there with my GMA X3100. I just noticed some garbled cube graphics when switching users.

This is on my second logicboard as well. It can get rather annoying when using Get Into and the majority of the window items do not render.

I noticed that with my old MacBook - I thought it was just the hardware going on the blink rather than it necessarily being down to software; what has Apple said in regards to the problem - something that needs a hardware replacement? it seems like a hardware issue to me IMHO.

10.6.7 installed, and it appears my USB ports are broken on my Mac Pro 4,1. No card reader or USB device is recognized. I just used it prior to upgrade on 10.6.6. I've reset PRAM, repaired permissions, restarted five times.

This is a problem.

Download previous update, extract usb kexts, and overwrite the new ones.

Yes, words it finds. Weather....not so much. It's usually wrong for me. Sometimes it changes to Kansas, sometimes it has weather that doesn't make sense for either Mpls. I don't use it. It's worse on iOS, I use Wunderground instead. Actually going to Yahoo or Weather Channel on the net does work just fine, it's just the widget that fails.

Weather Widget also fails on Boonville, MO (65233). It shows the temp, but has the sun up overnight and darkness during the day.

I downloaded the update but when I open iTunes and play a song, the whole system crashes everytime.

Anyone else having these same issue's ?

Special build for Early 2011 MacBook Pros

Hello,

I have bought one of the new MacBook Pros (early 2011) and see that there is a 'special build' for these models. Does that mean that I shouldn't download the software update by just hitting 'check for software updates' on the Apple menu? Do I have to go to that web page and download direct from there instead?

Very grateful for any advice...

Nick

Happy to report this update has stopped the persistent graphics glitches when viewing youtube.

This update has, unfortunately, not made Rebecca Black any more tolerable to listen to.

I'm having real problem after installing the update. Safari hangs very often to the extend that I have to force quit it. Same with the finder.
For example whenever I want to add an attachment to an email Finder and Mail become completely unresponsive.
Guess I will do a clean install and see what happens :(

No, it means that you should download the software update by just hitting "check for software updates" on the Apple menu.

Your Mac will locate the appropriate update on Apple's servers and grab it.

disk utility?

did you run disk utility -> repair permissions after the update? this solved some software related issues for me.

unfortunately, both 15" machines we have run so hot and loud even when web browsing, that we are sending them back.

Smb :-(

So the 10.6.7 update has made accessing my DNS-323 NAS via SMB terribly slow for directories with many folders/files in them (think 3 minutes to retrieve the folder/file contents). I have dirs with 1200 and 4000 sub folders in them and it is painful now. Was fine earlier before the update. Hmpf.

I just want to post that this update works perfectly for me. No issues at all, its faster now than it was before.

Working as intended with an unintended GFX card

Updated to 10.6.7 today, works fine with a flashed Sapphire HD 5870 Vapor-X 1gb GFX card.
No noticeable issues yet.

DRM has disappeared from all my TV shows and Movies purchased on iTunes. I can play it all in any media player suddenly. Anyone else having this problem?

Sorry for the noob Q.. Although ive been using mac for 3 years, you'd think I'd know.

Whats a combo update?

"Combo update will install 10.6.7 on every version of 10.6 from 10.6.0-10.6.6. Basically it's a shortcut to avoid multiple 'normal' updates (called Deltas). It's also purported to be more stable to install a combo update in case any of the previous updates are currently incomplete for whatever reason."

Borrowed from post #60 in this thread. Thank you, blevins321.

I don't think you chose the correct word for this occurrence. Awesomeness is probably more appropriate...

I hope this fixes the problem when sleeping and waking up and not being able to access SMB shares.

It fixed that problem for me :-D

After it restarted last night I mounted my NAS and left the computer on all night. This morning it woke and immediately worked; including my NAS-stored iTunes library folder.
