Does it fix screen glitches and freezing?

Any news on the MacBook Pro (early 2011) and the flickering 24" Cinema Display issues?

Thats what i'm testing now since this was the only mild issue i was having. When i first finished the update and restarted as normal i got a blackout. However i have since cleared all caches, shutdown, disconnected all cables, done an SMC/PRAM reset and fingers cross thus far it seems fine. No blackouts and no glitches.

Still keeping an eye out though because i'm a skeptic and because the first rushed update rarely solves the problem when it comes to Apple.

Sidenote: No freeze or crash under load either...but then again i never had those issues prior to the update.

I wish i remembered to take a snapshot of Sys Profiler prior to the update to know whats changed. Darwin/Kernel version seems to have moved to 10.7.3 as far as i can tell.

UPDATE: Still experiencing blackouts. No graphics glitches but definitely got 2 blackouts post update...albeit less frequent. Back to the drawing board i guess.

Let's hope so.

I hate to say it, but my current MacPro set up (10.6.6) is by far the most flaky I ever owned on the Mac platform (since 1993). Crashes and freezes all over the place, the 'favorite' one where the screen gradually turns black and you see in various language that your machine needs to be restarted :(

Just installed it on all my Macs. The App Store seems to be working better now. I can install updates with no problems. Before the updates I used to get error messages and couldn't update apps.

I had this problem with the App Store and trying to update iPhoto 09 to iPhoto11. It wouldn't work, so Apple refunded my purchase price. I'd like to go to iPhoto 11, but I'm afraid of losing data (pics).

Doesn't appear to be any TRIM support in 10.6.7?

Just installed, still says TRIM: no

Gotta wait til Lion. Not too long now though, just a few months and some warmer weather away. Anyone who had to drive in snow on the east coast today knows what I mean.

That's a kernel panic, and is usually indicative of hardware issues. You should get your mac checked out.

Why does the combo updates say 1.12 GB, but when you download it, it says 0.98 GB (which is 1.06 GB in metric)?

Benchmarks...

Tested 10.6.7 with Cinebench 11.5. With 10.6.6, I got 5.39 CPU. With 10.6.7 I get 5.07 (the same as what I get in Windows 7 BootCamp)! Has anyone seen any change in their score? Re-run CPU again and got 5.10, so seems consistently lower on my machine.

After that, I ran GeekBench 64-Bit since - Gone UP slightly to 11002 (from ~10950 in 10.6.6). GeekBench does not stress the machine as much as Cinebench (no fans speed increase, foe example) so I am guessing that the TurboBoost settings used in Mac OS X have been adjusted. Possibly, it has been adjusted to the same as how it is on Windows 7 (hence the same CPU score)?

My MacBook Pro is the stock i7 2720QM 15" 2011 model, for reference. (Build 10J3250)

What router are you using? I'm about to give up on my Airport Extreme (N-dual band), the latest version. I've had more problems with Apple Airport Extremes than any other Apple product combined.

Thats unusual. AE are considered to be some of the most stable routers you can buy. Not long on features, not the fastest, but very stable.

Was looking for TRIM support for my MBA...~
oh well~ wait for OSX Lion or 10.6.8

MBA don't need TRIM support.

WARNING!

I just installed this on my macBookPro 2010 i7 and when it rebooted, my trackpad and keyboard are dead!

I have to unplug my external monitor and turn off my Bluetooth mouse. Now it works after 3 power cycles.

Oddly it would recognize the Bluetooth mouse, but nothing in the laptop.

:p

(Somehow, though, I can't imagine that this will have fixed the issue I've been experiencing where the widget would move on its own from time to time)

I could never understand that issue, either. It was the one widget I used that displayed that behavior. Oh well, ya win some ya lose some.

How was the problem resolved? Did it reappeared again? (I have the MBP 15'' 2010 with i7)

Do you see any performance boost? (more exactly.. with graphics?)

Combo Updater refuses to install on new 2011 MacBook Pros. I just tried to do so myself.

Combo updater page is blank for 2011 MBP. Maybe Apple blocked it.

Seems that if you got the new MBP then use software update due to different version. For all people software update will work.

Just got back up. I was posting the previous message from my iPhone. I had to unplug my external display and turn off my bluetooth mouse and then it worked. But I'm afraid to turn it off with the display plugged in. Not sure if that will hang again.

The fan is very loud now. :(
