tywebb13,

Do you have links yet for the Safari 12.1 updates for Sierra and High Sierra?

Also, will there be an iTunes 12.9 update for those two OS versions?

Here they are:

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/down...halacpcwo8fm77y1alpywk/Safari12.0.1Sierra.pkg

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/down...tmn5df9oijkv7j/Safari12.0.1HighSierraAuto.pkg

Not quite sure what is going on with iTunes.

There is definitely 12.9 for windows, but the standalone one for mac still seems to be 12.8.

I have heard a rumor that apple will not provide standalone installers for iTunes anymore for mac, but will update it via software update for Mojave or mac app store for older versions. Not sure if that is true though.

I finally convinced myself to clean the mess in my house because update took a little more than half an hour, and I was clueless as to what to do for those 30+ minutes.

So, I did the best thing I could possibly do. If you ask me, the Mac OS updates shall be every day.

My MBP still says "Up to date" with 10.14... No update here yet. (Seattle area)
My 2015 MacBook has the same issue. I downloaded the 10.14.1 update package, and it says macOS "can't be installed on this disk. this volume does not meet the requirements for this update" WUWT? I was not on the beta and I had no problem installing 10.14 when it came out.

Totally had this issue on my MacBook Pro, yet had no issue with my iMac both of which were enrolled in the public beta program.

I updated my phone, pad,Macbook Pro without issue though it took awhile. Today I decided on my day off I'd update my iMac which I only use for video editing. Big Mistake! Now it looks like I'm doing a Time Machine Restore with some possible data loss. Really kicking myself.

I updated mine through about my mac, system updates..took a while, I had my MacBook pro 2018 at 45 percent charged..it rebooted a few times, stayed black, freaked me out, so I plugged in the charger then it continued, when it went to the home screen I got a message saying how the computer restarted "Due to a problem" and that the "Kernel report as been sent to apple" so I pressed OK..everything seems fine, it was just some sort of error report, looked like a long paragraph couldn't write it all down, but everything seems fine, could it be because I plugged in the charger it considered that an "Error" to report?

Not sure but if your Mac boots, then I wouldn't consider it a problem. Kernel reports are mainly important for panics, and frequent reboots

Great! yeah it boots up just fine..maybe since I did not have my charger connected it considered it an issue..the computer boots up perfectly. Im new to macs so for every hiccup I panic LOL. Next time there is an update I will just keep the charger connected just in case.

This update didn't install on my 2018 MBP 13". Rotating daisy for 5 hour or so. So I killed it, then reboot into "No Start Disk", Unlocked the disk then rebooted okay. My system reverted back to 10.14.

Similar problems updating my iMac. In my case, it corrupted to the point where I couldn't even restore, reinstall, or format the drive from the recovery partition (local or Internet). I had to create a USB installer to get a functional recovery partition to restore - PITA. Two other macs updated without incident.

Updated my 13" MBP 2015 fine but the update was weird. It restarted several times. Sometimes the screen lit up with the cursor in the top left hand corner then went to the progress bar. Once I got the rubric "calculating time remaining" then the screen went black. Then it rebooted etc. Very odd. Resisted the temptation to force a restart and it finally updated.

Was there a firmware update on all notebooks with this release?

I’m having the same issue when I’ve got plenty of space left.

I have the 2014 MacBook Air.

No obvious problems during or after downloading, but there was a sudden message later on about a problem with the computer being reported to Apple. iMac Retina 2015.

Just observing.... if I activate find my Mac, it seems the problem is back. 10% drop in 8 hours. Still watching whether this really the case.

Was it a message about how the computer restarted because of a "Problem" and the issue being sent to apple..? If it was I got the same message, never got it before but my mac is working fine so I guess its just one of those weird things I was told maybe it was because I plugged in my adapter while it was installing(Because it was running out of battery)

Could be possible that the problem is our SSD. Do you have installed on your own?
I have the same issue with my 480Gb Kingston SSD perhaps the FileVault?
