I’m just glad I’ve got my iPad Pro 12.9” Logitech keyboard and mouse so I can flip to my iPad while 3.11GB gets downloaded and installed! Note my AirPods Max also did the flip to the iPad immediately!

Tell me about it. Their insistence on moving everyone over to MDM has been frustrating, because now we need third party tools to manage our Macs that we could manage with entirely first party tools, locally, before.
How does Apple know or care how you manage your machines?

Apple is becoming a bigger headache in the enterprise space than Windows.
Other than updates, I don't find this to be true. Including updates, however, HOLY MOLY. Windows is 10x better at alerting users, installing the update when they're out of office, deferral notifications, etc.

They may not know, but they certainly do care. If you don't use MDM with Big Sur/newer Macs in Enterprise, your life is a living hell. I'm fortunate to work for a school district that could afford the tens of thousands of dollars a year to move to MDM, and it's certainly a godsend in many situations, but prepping and managing machines used to be much cheaper and almost entirely driven by Apple-created products.

What’s your problem with 4K external displays?
As soon as I upgraded to Big Sur all connections aside from USB-C don’t work. Good job my monitor has it otherwise it would be a paperweight. And my speakers connected with the 3.5mm jack now crackle, but are fine using the iPad Pro USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. Not to mention kernal panics and general poor performance. Worst OS I’ve ever used in terms of performance and stability, including all versions of Windows. I miss the pre-Catalina days. Mac OS was so good then.

Just to chime in that I don't doubt it doesn't work for you - but I just started using a 4K Pro Art monitor with an M1 MacBook Air. My first screen bigger then 15" in over a decade. And I've been surprised at how well it works. It can be a pain point figuring out the exact order or which to power things on, but in general it works pretty flawlessly with my Air in clamshell mode. Even the USB hub built into the monitor works with another USB hub hanging off that. No crackling speakers here. I appreciate this doesn't help your situation but just to let you know it does work for some.

My god, people here are never satisfied. When Apple releases iOS 15 to the iPhone 6S everybody is cheering and taking a dump on Android at the same time, when Apple releases an important security patch one week after Big Sur 11.5 we are complaining ThAt ThErE ArE tOo mAnY uPdAtEs.

Except for the Watch, I like updates. I wish there were more noticeable updates, but security patches are needed.

I'm updating twice within 12 hours I guess...

My 2018 15" MBP does not see 11.5.1 update. It's still on 11.5 (20G71)

WARNING! This update has broken my two 4K 27" external displays both running through USB-C, so I'm back to where I was when Big Sur 11.1 update was released. I'm running the 2019 16" i9 MacBook Pro. Before applying the update yesterday evening, I was able to use my laptop in work open on the desk with the two 4k displays working above. I come into work, now most of this morning I only one external display working. When I do briefly get the second screen to switch on, it runs at 30hz. If I notch the scaling up because I like it on the 'looks like 2560x1400, the screen goes blank. It still shows the screen in Display Settings. If I close the laptop then the blank second screen will always work, but again at 30hz. I have had one kernel panic due to plugging and unplugging the monitors. I wonder how many months I will have to wait for Apple to fix this? Took several months last time monitors were broken.

Yeah.. computers can't be made secure.

Increasingly, phones can't be made secure anymore either.

It's all over. Hardware wallet still works. Everything else is p0wned.
