I always do a clean install, it make my machine feel fresh every year and not clogged down with random installation issues. Got my trust USB out to make a bootable install media on it... now just have to wait however long it takes to download this beast... 18 hours?looks like I'm not the only person who does this
If anybody decides to put this together, it might need to offer some decision making guidance based on risk and benefit... Answer 'why' some people opt for clean install vs 'upgrade'.

Wow! Even the update is problematic. After months of development on Big Sur I’m sitting this release out.You are not good! haha
Good call, says I.Still on Mojave, Catalina was the first OS I skipped, mainly because of all the out of character complaints.
no matter how long it takes, it will always be less time than xcode.
i had the same problem I unenroll from the beta but it didn't really removed it apparently. I tried a tip from a member here and it worked. In the UK on the Public Beta and its just offering me the Big Sur Release Candidate 2. I have removed myself from the Beta
No, it's not the ISPs. It's Apple's incompetence.I think the ISP is throttling the massive traffic.
If I'm on RC 2 11.0.1 20B28, should I see this is in Software Update at some point......?
London here - same problem. hahNorth UK here, 200mbps and has been stuck in the ~150mbs for around 25 min 😅View attachment 1661438
AbsolutelyNo, it's not the ISPs. It's Apple's incompetence.
Mine got all the way up to 115.3MB and stalled out, apparently for good.
Why is it over 12GB in the first place?
