I'm sure glad with pay a high premium for Apple products to get this type of download performance. Maybe less money to stockholders and more into server infrastructure.

Tim, if you are listening - next time just post the update to alt.bin.macOS, we'll take it from there :p

On a more serious note, I can't remember that a macOS update would have been so slow to download for many-many years now. Something must have gone wrong with the distribution points.

Has anyone been able to download the macOS Big Sur release through the terminal? I am using the following command, but I am not getting any luck in downloading the installer through the terminal on macOS Catalina 10.15.7:

softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 11.0.1

Well to be honest, this occurs only once a year when a new OS is released. The rest of the year it works perfectly fine. I'd rather have them put chargers back in boxes, or at least provide a USB-A cable so you can actually use the chargers you already have...

Okay just came here to make sure it wasn't my connection lol. Their servers are getting hammered

Add it to the list of absolute ****ing embarrassments from a 2 trillion dollar company. At least their stock is up, right?
