Apple Releases macOS Big Sur With Fresh Design, Control Center, Safari Privacy Report, Messages Updates, Maps Overhaul and More

The link worked to download the installer package, that's all. If you see my other posts you'll understand that I'm not convinced and haven't used the downloaded file, so no, the issue of the upgrade is not resolved.
No, the link doesn't work to download the installer package. No-one is able to download the installer package from that link.

Well I just did!

And risking everything I clicked the installer...

It seems that the Big Sur is the only version that's failing... I'm using this script:

Is there somewhere to delete the file downloaded this afternoon? Seems like it's hung now and I just keep getting the error and can't get it to start downloading again. Anyone else originally getting the error able to get past it?

I find it ridiculous with over 1000 comments and the majority downloading Big Sur at the same damn time people are acting childish complaining about slow downloads. What did they expect? And this is just Macrumros. There are many more forums and thousands of people downloading at the same time. Glad I'm not the "Gotta have Gotta have or I'll die type of person. SMH.
Its not just about slow downloading as that was earlier. Its now about (for most) getting an installer error immediately upon click the Update button.

I tried to download and it stopped about 4 times. On the fifth try is said this....Now I can't get past it to even start downloading. It never completed downloading. Tried restarting.

Check under /Library/Updates (system Library) - I show stuff there and I am gonna try to remove it.

I thought this too, so I just switched to a different Mac for the download, one that I hadn't attempted Big Sur on before, and ... same problem

I expect an almost triliion dollar company that charges a premium for its products to perform better. Amazon has literally millions of people around the world logged into their servers buying things, downloading media, streaming, etc and I can't remember the last time there was a failure. Amazon figured it out, why can't Apple?
Oh really? Try buying the PS5 today. The servers on Amazon and Walmart have been next to dead when they were available. So Amazon just says "Currently Unavailable" to relieve themselves of the pressure. And the amount of money a company has cannot control the amount of people smashing the servers. Please use some logic. 🙄
