Does Mojave support end when Big Sur is released?
I have a mid 2012 MBP also, I wonder if this is the last OS update we'll see?Well, this is definitely a [welcome] surprise for me and my 2012 MacBook Pro. 🥳
No, High Sierra will howeverDoes Mojave support end when Big Sur is released?
Why are you not downloading the dmgs from https://support.apple.com/downloads ?Yeah, it seems pretty big for a "supplemental" update! Apple really need to fix the size of their downloads - we have slow internet here in the middle of the countryside and with 4 machines to update we'll probably be here until Big Sur is release and then have to start all over again
Wondering this too as supposedly they are a MR staff member... would think they know how to download dmgs from Apple support downloadsWhy would you download the update more than once?
Do you think it’ll be called 11.1? I was under the assumption that they would just up the number every year. So next year would be 12.0No, but High Sierra will. Mojave will be unsupported when 11.1 comes out.
First-ing? Really? And you weren't even first lol.
I'm gonna speculate that this release probably means Big Sur is still a ways out. Like late Oct or early Nov time frame.
From your keyboard to Tim Apple's ears on this one...As for Catalina, as this is the cut off point for several 2012 and 2013 Macs, I don’t think 10.15.7 Will be the last release.

19H2, that’s unusually short and small.macOS Catalina 10.15.7 (19H2)

Personally, I hope this is true. An extra month of beta testing for this big of an update can’t hurt anything. Wait until it’s fully ready for public consumption.
Agree, however, I do think that Big Sur is necessary. But let’s stay on big serve for a while.Let's take it a step further and stop the forced yearly rush release of MAC OS software just because IOS does it.
I much preferred the bi yearly major updates.

It’s probably a renamed version of the beta they put out a few weeks ago. 9to5Mac reported it as being publicly available but it was only ever intended for developers.19H2, that’s unusually short and small.
Just checked the version history of macOS, this is the first time with only 1 digit after the alphabet.
