Siri can be turned off in macOS, intelligence cannot be disabled.

Both can be disabled or turned off in Tahoe, so Apple A.I can not be disabled in Goldengate? That is not good, I will keep with Tahao

I know what Apple was like before it started going down the same path as Microsoft. The old Apple no longer exists.

At least Apple don't force an online account on you, and I was going to say force A.I, but maybe that have changed in Goldengate.
I used Windows for years and changed to Mac three years ago, certainly made the right choice.

system settings, then apple intelligence and Siri. Then you see two switch, one for Apple intelligence and one for Siri, you can turn either on or off.

i presume in Goldengate if there is a way to turn of AI, it will also turn off Siri, since they will be linked. I would be surprised if there is not a way to turn it off. I know Apple went though the stage of turning it back on in Tahoe with updates, but that lasted for a a couple of updates.

If it can't be disabled, I will not be updating. not sure if i really need to anyway. Goldengate seems to be more about AI and changing the look than anything else.

In Golden Gate, you can only turn off Siri. Even searching system settings for intelligence yields nothing.

So as I said above I presume doing that also turn off the A.I, since Sir and A.I in Goldengate is integrated. In Tahao, Ai is not connected with SirI as Siri is not really A.I as such. I have both disabled, got no interest in Siri and have no need for A.I.
I will have to do some searching, but it look's like I will be sticking as I am. Thanks anyway.

Windows is only part of the conversation because that is the level Apple has descended to. As to requiring an account, that is now the new norm, with Apple having implemented age verification in various jurisdictions.

I have read that AI remains on regardless.
(anyway I can’t imagine Apple allowing people to *inadvertently* turn off AI by simply disabling Siri.)

True. Apple intelligence is more than just Siri (though new Siri needs it).

If you close a window that has a YouTube video playing in it, you get to continue enjoying the audio for a while after the window is gone. Yay?

You can play videos? I'm jealous. YouTube or any video (Even AppleTV) will not work randomly. I have reboot or fiddle with audio settings to get them to play. Been broken for many betas for me. I reported this in July.
