can confirm this isn't the final release.. it still says "BETA" in the about this mac screen

Apple I think always does a GM Candidate for Mac because we always have to download the final installer no matter what. I remember it every year now. The GM Candidate just allows it so we can submit our apps as Dev without getting the whole you are running a beta, please use the latest release to build your apps message in iTunes Connect. I can't remember there ever being a straight GM for the last 3 years atleast. And last year there were 2 different GM candidates and the build number was one digit more on the 2nd version. The Beta branding will go away when you install the final release version.

Guys...I think my English is not helping ... "If you installed a beta version of macOS High Sierra, the Fusion Drive in your Mac may have been converted to Apple File System. Because this configuration is not supported in the initial release of macOS High Sierra, we recommend that you follow the steps below to revert back to the previous disk format." (you can read it here > https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/apfsfusion )...Though I'm running a beta version, using APFS files now, in order to install this crap GM I have to go back to HFS cause my Fusion Drive does not support it???? Did I read it right??

What is interesting, is that NO APPLICATIONS were changed with this release. Did they only test the installer or what?

Well this sucks - https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/apfsfusion

Basically, you can't install High Sierra on fusion drives formatted as APFS. This will need to be figured out soon (hopefully in 10.13.1), it's not as if fusion drives are going anywhere. Not sure why this couldn't have been resolved during the beta testing period.

Yeah, this sucks. I guess they're pulling the "well, we told you it was a beta" card. Really surprising they didn't get that done for the deadline.

Your options are:
1. do as they say and restore from backup
2. install GM anyway and put up with whatever issues there are
3. stay as you are on the last beta, until 10.13.x supports APFS on Fusion Drives

How is APFS on Fusion Drives?

It's perfect! No problems so far and that's why this GM (or whatever this is cause some are saying is a GM "candidate" and that is strange as well) warning is so weird...

I beta tested high sierra a few days ago and so far there have been few problems. The only problems was a glitch in my apps folder that showed only half of the apps... If I closed it and opened it again it goes away... Applications that were a problem with the launch of sierra last year are pretty much non existent with high sierra....

After I installed this version, I cannot logon at home with my mobile account (active directory). Is this a Bug?

Can anyone who has installed the GM, AND who uses Airplay to stream music from iTunes to multiple Airport Express routers confirm that this still works? Has Apple deprecated Airplay in favor of Airplay 2?

I don't understand what the big deal with Airplay 2 is. "Oh, you can stream to multiple speakers." Yeah. I've been doing that for about a decade now with Airport Express. What's your point? Don't make me invest in $400 Airplay speakers in four different rooms, when I'm already covering them with $99 Airport Expresses and speakers I already owned.

If your trying to get via software update you will be waiting forever. You have to re download the installer.
Or try again while standing on one leg and breathing through left nostril. That's what did it for me. Last year it was right nostril. You know Apple, always changing things for no reason.

Resizing APFS partition via Disk Utility or creating BootCamp partition via BootCamp Assistant still not working in this release...always getting an error message – damn

high sierra 17A362a (info .plist 13.0.61 17A361a) isn't visible as update from beta 9 on App store, you must re-open the web link to beta from safari or re-download the beta dmg file to find the updated beta "high sierra", the aren't infos about the last beta version, you must download again the .app and start the setup overwriting the current version.. from beta 8 to 9 it was different showing all progress updates..

As much as I am also excited for these new innovations especially around the file system, I have to admit that my normally rambunctious early adopter has a little bit of pause given the fact that we are talking about filesystem changes. We’re not just talking about things that do or don’t work and you can move around them, we’re talking about overall data integrity and the most fundamental aspect of how information is stored on your machine.

Exactly why i haven't made the move yet either and will both CCC and Time Machine my system before installing the release. Ill also wait even longer to do it on my production system, till I'm sure HS and Logic work together fine. Luck to you.

Is it actually i tied in anyway to the location you are downloading from? I am in Seattle at the moment, and it is downloading something, but does not say GM Candidate.

EDIT: It downloaded 17A361a ... I currently have 17A360a, installed.....

Yup, you read it right :p. I knew Apple was having some issues with Fusion drives and APFS - which is why in early betas fusion drives would be automatically updated to APFS, but that was removed in later betas. In the previous (non-GM) build, you couldn't even convert a fusion drive to APFS after the fact. The only way to get APFS was to wipe your existing fusion drive, recreate and format it as APFS. I did just that, and restored from a Time Machine backup. Everything seemed to be working fine, but there may be a few show stopping bugs that I haven't encountered, forcing Apple to remove the ability to use APFS on fusion drives.

With all that being said, as frustrating and annoying as it is to have to wipe my computer clean and set it backup using HFS+, that is the price you pay for using beta software :p

There still seem to be a lot of issues with APFS...which has me really concerned for this release.

As far as I can tell you can't install the GM on fusion drives formatted as APFS at all - the installer simply won't let you. I've been using APFS on my fusion drive for a few weeks now, it seems to be okay. I haven't noticed any issues that seem file system related (corrupt files, etc.), but there have definitely been some annoying slow down issues, and a bit more than usual spinning beach ball of deaths - it is quite possible those issues are related to APFS and the fusion drive. I'm currently backing up my system and reformatting it back to HFS+ so I can install the GM - we'll see how things run after!

That's really weird. It only worked for me once I closed my third eye and crossed my legs. Apple is always changing things just gotta keep with the times.

one is IOS 11 and the other is High Sierra
[doublepost=1505423364][/doublepost]
If it's a GM i don't think build should end in a letter. i.e. IOS 11 GM Build is 15A372

It's a full install app instead of an update.

I saved the install app to a back-up drive like i usually do when GM's fall.

I'm sure the next update will just be an update.
