It'd be cool if this would fix the T2 bridge error problem people have been having. I haven't had any problems with it (knock on wood), but it'd be very reassuring to know that Apple fixes that after they added the 2018 and 2019 MBP keyboards to their keyboard repair program this week too.

Apple today quietly released an updated version of macOS Mojave 10.14.5, which is designed for 15-inch MacBook Pro models that feature a T2 security chip, aka the 2018 and 2019 machines.

It was out 3 days ago in Australia, why is MR so slow to pick this up?

Downloading it now on my 2018 15”. I haven’t had any BridgeOS Kernel Panics since last August-September IIRC, not long after I bought the laptop.

Interestingly the machine did enter a sort of firmware update mode that I had never seen before on this model. I know previous units had a thick gray bar but not this model I guess. It had all the other tell tale signs of a firmware update though: the fans kicked up partway through.

I'm not sure what update you saw 3 days ago, but this supplemental update for 10.14.5 was just released today, worldwide.

Hmm, an update to the 10.14.5 update? I'll stand corrected then.

I can verify that the 10.14.5 Supplemental Update (May 22nd) did not fix my Macintosh HD corruption problem nor did it fix my WiFi disconnect problem. About 4 hours after installing the Supplemental Update my WiFi disconnected from the Internet (while the WiFi hardware was still working with an RSSI=-45dBm and a Noise=-90dBm) with nothing attached to the 2018 15" MBP and none of my code/files/iCloud/TeX/Time Machine/third-party apps downloaded onto the 2018 MBP. In other words, it is a pristine machine with only a few Mac App Store apps installed after the 2nd Apple repair replacing the logic board and Touch ID board. My other computers all had Internet connections using the same router as the 2018 MBP when it didn't have Internet connection (it looses its DNS information, a rare, random, and often intermittent problem). I also executed "sysdiagnose" while the 2018 MBP didn't have WiFi connection and uploaded the sysdiagnose gzipped tar archive to Apple Support.

This update restricts resolutions for external display on my 2017 rMBP.
In short, you lose 4K at 30Hz.

I was happily running an external 4k 55" display at 30Hz via HDMI as it wouldn't do 60Hz with the cables I had for my 2017 rMBP. That no longer works at all after this upgrade. 1080p is the maximum I could get it to.
So it seems that this update restricts the display resolutions available to those at 60Hz only.
I've had to order a usb-c to HDMI 2.0 cable and hopefully that will unlock the 4k resolutions at 60Hz for my display.

-- UPDATE --
A couple of days later and a couple of restarts and it is now working and at 60Hz now.
I used the screen resolution tool that comes with Parallels to expose the other screen resolutions so I don't know if that was the cure or not.

After installing this latest update. My IMac pc will not turn on! I've tried everything possible and now nothing!

Taking FOREVER. It downloaded quickly but I've had the black screen with spinny wheel for about 30 minutes now. The spinner ticks about once a minute, if that. Brand new machine, too.
