I have.

Also, I have had the scenario where a specific USB device could not be used to boot a specific computer. For example, I have two Lexar USB flash drives, different models but nearly identical looking (aside from the colour). One of them boots all my Macs (if loaded with a bootable OS of course). The other one doesn't, even though I can use it after the OS is booted.
Well you’re talking about booting off them, I’m talking about the drive not even being detected as a USB device, let alone be mounted.

But even if that was the case this drive worked perfectly fine before Monterey.
Literally after installing Monterey every single one of my Macs refuses to detect it while plugged in, but it works if they boot with the drive inserted so clearly it’s a software issue specific to Monterey that can and should be fixed.

Although the Music being native didn't bring the super boost in performance I would have liked, it's definitely a lot better when searching music and moving between screens in Apple Music. My own library though is another story...

Looks like Apple fiddled with the resolution menu ? After updating to 12.2, the font, icons, etc. are bigger (then I had in 12.1) and it looks pretty bad when mirrored on a 34" 5K LCD. Selecting the customized resolution "More Space" makes everything too small and selecting it right next to it makes everything unnecessarily bigger compared to the last solution. Do you guys have it that way too?

I tried testing different resolutions using app DisplayProg and it looks like Apple changed in version 12.2. the value in the resolution from the original "3840x1620" to "3360x1418" ?‍♂️
Same for me! This happened on my M1 MBA so I couldn't use normal resolution on my Dell U4021, but when I upgraded to M1 Pro the resolution appeared. Now on 12.2 it has disappeared again. Hopefully there will be a bugfix for this, until then I'm using BetterDummy.

They are already rewriting things in Swift. There's a rumor it is a source of problems in recent versions...

Rewriting stuff in Swift is probably even worse idea than rewriting stuff in Rust :)
SwiftUI maybe, Swift I don't think so, parts of applications have been rewritten in swift since el capitan and I dont remember wide spread memory leak reports in range of el capitan - catalina

One problem still exists in my case:
Booting from an external Nvme Drive is most of the time very slow, takes about 2,5 minutes - 20 seconds normaly, very rare.
My config:
MacBook Air M1 2020
Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, newest FW Update
Unibos Thunderbolt 4 enclosure and cable

The bug that makes all my Safari tabs intermittently turn all black or all white with no text on them is still there. After months of reporting it.
Weird. I have never seen this, and we have 5 Monterey machines in the house.

What is the context, and on what hardware? I wonder if the install could be partially corrupt.

Anyone else having problems with sleep in this release?
Worked perfectly until yesterday, but now, every 5 seconds, the iMac (2019, Intel) seems to wake (hearing the fan and disc spin up) and got back to sleep again.
PowerNap is disabled.

The problem isn't macOS 12.2, it's the INTEL in your iMac.

There isn't any issues with MagSafe. The only issue was in 12.0.1 i think where when it's powered off and the lid closed. The MagSafe will be stuck in a cycle. But yeah it's fixed and there is no more MagSafe bug AFAIK. Are you sure it's not your MagSafe cable or the laptop since i think it could be hw issue

Edit : and it was only on 16"
Taking it in this aft. They had me run the diagnostics test, and weirdly enough it gave me codes saying that there is something wrong with my trackpad so they are taking a look at it.

A couple of things now work for me. 1) Videoguard which is used to stream off my Directv box. 2) A python app that uses poetry built by Home Brew (M1).

Well, that wasn't pleasant...

I was just surfing in Safari and watching an embedded YouTube video when suddenly my 2014 Mac mini slowed to a crawl, and the fan came on loud. I tried closing as many apps as possible but it took minutes to do since the CPU was absolutely hammered. After another couple of minutes I managed to launch Activity Monitor. Memory usage was fine, but the CPU was pegged at 100% (showing 0% idle), although it didn't list which process was causing the issue. I waited more minutes but the runaway process never showed up in the list. I tried taking some screenshots but that was also taking minutes, so finally I just did a complete shut down by holding down the power button for several seconds.

I've never encountered this on 12.0.1 or 12.1 on this machine.

After the reboot, all is fine, including surfing the same website and watching the same YouTube video.

There appears to be a bug in the new music app. If you have a playlist with songs with from a disc other than Disc 1, it adds the disc number heading in between songs of the playlist. For... some reason. Appears to just be a visual bug but still strange.

Just tested the Apple Music app...
Sluggish as always.

Also what is this mess?
Some apple music playlists are now divided into discs, some of which only have one track.
This is the "70s soft rock essentials" playlist.

Not fixed in macOS 12.3 Beta 1. :(

I am sorry, but what does it mean that that the music app is now fully native?
The Music app was using web views for some parts, like the search results. Now they have been rewritten using native macOS SDKs so they are more fluid and load faster.

After this update, my macbook pro m1 pro heats up more, at least with Parallels Desktop it is at 60ºc or more, before it was at 50ºc, the battery is draining faster, I don't know if I'm the only one with this, or if I'm seeing wrong

Yep, the Safari team is clueless sadly, same bugs over and over until the end of times. QA must be in quarantine ??‍♂️

For the battery drain i can confirm, but for parallels no, works fine for me at the same temps.

Is there any way to fix this, beside shutting the mac down, which I do not want?

Interestingly I found that 12.1 used less cpu in general and was pretty smooth. Upgrade to 12.2 has gone smoothly so far - looks like they have fixed the mail bug where when addressing a new contact, it replaces it with the nearest food in contacts. 12.2 has fixed it so you can input an email address that is not in your contacts which is good news.
Haven't noticed memory leakage so far. Was this fixed in 12.1 ?
